The Humminbird SOLIX 10 CHIRP MEGA SI+ G3 Control Head Only (model 411530-1CHO, the CHO suffix indicating no-transducer configuration) is the 10-inch SOLIX flagship MFD configured as a head-unit-only purchase. The right SKU for boat owners who already have a compatible MEGA-capable Humminbird transducer or who want to order the specific MEGA SI+ transducer that fits their boat separately. Same SOLIX 10 head unit and same feature set as the bundled SKUs, lower cost because you're not paying twice for a transducer you don't need.

What the SOLIX line is. Humminbird's flagship MFD line, sized in 10, 12, and 15-inch screen variants. Cross Touch interface combining a high-resolution touchscreen with hardware soft keys for the operations that touch is bad at in marine conditions. The latest G3 generation runs on a faster processor than the G2 generation it replaces, which means smoother chart panning, faster app switching, and the headroom to run multiple sonar sources simultaneously without slowdown. Compared to the HELIX line (which is the mid-tier Humminbird), SOLIX has a brighter optical-bonded display, faster processing, full Cross Touch, and a more capable networking architecture.

The 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 pixel display is the practical sweet spot for serious bass and bay boats and for inshore center consoles. Big enough for genuinely usable split-screen (chart plus sonar plus MEGA Side Imaging plus MEGA Down Imaging in four panels, all readable at helm distance), small enough to fit a typical helm dash without requiring a custom cut. The optical-bonded LCD eliminates internal reflections and reads clearly in direct sunlight on the open water.

Cross Touch interface is the SOLIX-specific control style. Touchscreen handles operations that touch is good at: pinch to zoom, drag to pan, tap to select, navigate menus. The hardware soft keys on the right side of the bezel handle operations that touch is bad at when the screen is wet or your fingers are salty: confirming critical inputs, marking waypoints, switching pages, adjusting common settings. The combination is more reliable in real marine conditions than a pure touchscreen interface.

MEGA Side Imaging+ (MSI+) is the headline sonar feature. Run MEGA DI+ on a split screen alongside Dual Spectrum CHIRP traditional sonar and you get both the photo-quality structure view and the traditional fish-arch presentation simultaneously. Most serious anglers run both views together.

Dual Spectrum CHIRP traditional sonar is the standard 2D sonar with the Humminbird CHIRP refinement that delivers tight target separation. Two CHIRP frequency bands work simultaneously: the narrow band for high-resolution target separation in the immediate water column, the wide band for broader coverage and deeper bottom reach. Together they give you better fish-arch identification than older single-frequency sonars and let you distinguish individual fish in tightly grouped schools.

AutoChart Live is the make-your-own-bathymetric-chart feature. Drive the boat over the area you want to map, the unit records depth and bottom hardness in real time, and you have your own custom chart of that spot saved to the SD card. Especially useful for fishing small ponds and lakes that don't have detailed commercial coverage, or for mapping a specific productive area in finer detail than commercial charts provide. Built-in precision GPS handles positioning with the accuracy needed for waypoint integrity, autopilot integration, and trolling motor spot-lock. 10,000 waypoint capacity is way more than any reasonable user will fill on a single body of water. serious tournament anglers use it for spot collections that span multiple lakes and rivers across a fishing season.

Cartography. Compatible with Humminbird Basemap, LakeMaster, CoastMaster, and AutoChart Pro charts via the SD card slots.
