Lowrance Ghost Trolling Motor 60" w/ TMR-1 Remote 24/36V — Product description

The Lowrance Ghost Trolling Motor with TMR-1 Remote (MPN 000-15480-001) is the 60-inch shaft, dual-voltage 24/36V brushless freshwater trolling motor that established Lowrance as a serious entrant in the bow-mount trolling motor market. Built in-house from scratch over four years and 10,000+ hours of testing. 97 pounds of thrust at 24V or 120 pounds at 36V (the most thrust of any trolling motor on the market at launch). Brushless motor delivers 25 percent more power and 60 percent greater efficiency vs equivalent brushed-motor competitors - quieter under the boat, longer run time per charge, longer service life. TMR-1 wireless remote (30-foot range). Plug-and-play HDI nosecone transducer included (CHIRP sonar plus DownScan Imaging). Fly-by-wire steering for cable-steer feel without the wear of physical cables. Configurable foot pedal with anchor / heading quick-access keys, programmable shortcut buttons, and Power-Pole shallow water anchor control built-in. Total touchscreen integration with HDS LIVE, HDS Carbon, and Elite Ti2 chartplotter displays. Anchor mode locks the boat on any waypoint regardless of wind. Interference-free brushless emits zero electromagnetic noise. 60-inch shaft sized for boats with taller bows. 3-year warranty.

The Lowrance Ghost is the freshwater bow-mount trolling motor that Lowrance designed and built in-house from scratch - the company's entry into the previously two-brand trolling motor market dominated by major competitor and sister-major competitor. After four years of development and 10,000+ hours of testing, the Ghost launched as a serious top-tier alternative for owners running Lowrance helm electronics who wanted full system integration without compromising on motor capability. The 60-inch shaft variant with TMR-1 remote (MPN 000-15480-001) is sized for larger bass and walleye boats with higher bows.

Dual voltage 24V / 36V flexibility. The 97/120 lb thrust ratings reflect dual-voltage operation - 97 pounds of thrust when wired for 24V (two batteries in series) or 120 pounds at 36V (three batteries in series). Same motor, different battery configuration. For owners running 24V systems, you get 97 lb thrust now with the option to upgrade to 36V later for more thrust without buying a new motor. For owners already running 36V, the full 120 lb thrust is the most you can get from a recreational trolling motor today - meaningfully more than the equivalent-tier competitors.

Brushless motor design. The Ghost was the first major recreational trolling motor to ship with a brushless motor as the standard configuration. Three real benefits over the older brushed-motor design: significantly quieter operation underwater (no commutator brush noise), 60 percent better run-time efficiency (more thrust per amp drawn from the battery, longer fishing time on one charge), and effectively unlimited motor life (no brushes to wear out, no service intervals). For serious anglers who fish all day from one battery charge or who care about minimizing motor noise that spooks fish, the brushless motor is the visible difference vs older brushed alternatives.

25 percent more thrust than competitors. At 120 lb thrust on 36V, the Ghost delivers more thrust than the equivalent-tier brushed-motor competitors at the same voltage. The thrust margin matters in two scenarios: heavier boats (the extra thrust handles bigger boats without overloading the motor), and heavier conditions (the extra thrust pushes through wind and current that would slow lower-thrust motors). For tournament-class anglers who need consistent performance across all conditions, the 120 lb rating gives them margin they can use.

60 percent better efficiency. The brushless motor's higher efficiency translates directly to runtime. At the same battery capacity and same average load, the Ghost runs roughly 60 percent longer per charge than equivalent brushed-motor trolling motors. For full-day tournament fishing where motor runtime is the limiting factor between staying out and going home, this is a meaningful capability difference - it's the kind of spec that determines whether you can fish the entire tournament window or have to come in early to recharge.

Silent operation. The brushless motor's lack of commutator brush noise plus Lowrance's specific design choices around prop / lower unit acoustics make the Ghost meaningfully quieter underwater than competing trolling motors. For sight-fishing applications (clear water bass fishing, flats fishing, sight-casting in shallow weed beds), motor noise is the difference between catching fish and watching them spook. The Ghost is quiet enough that you'll wonder if it's actually running when you first use it.

60-inch shaft length. The 60-inch shaft is the longer option in the Ghost line - sized for boats with taller bow heights (bigger fiberglass bass boats, raised-deck walleye boats, deep-V hulls with elevated foredecks). For boats with shorter bow heights, the matching 52-inch shaft variant is the right call. Verify your bow height (waterline to where the trolling motor mount sits) before ordering and target a prop depth of 4-6 inches below the waterline when deployed. Wrong shaft length means cavitation in waves (too short) or prop drag (too long).

TMR-1 wireless remote included. The TMR-1 is the Ghost's hand-held wireless remote - 30-foot range, full motor control (steering, speed, anchor mode, heading mode, waypoint marking) without going to the foot pedal. The remote goes on a lanyard around your neck and gives you motor control from anywhere on the boat. For owners who fish standing up at the bow, fight fish from the cockpit, or simply prefer hands-on remote control vs the foot pedal, the TMR-1 is the primary control surface. Anglers who like the traditional foot pedal still have it - the remote is in addition to the pedal, not instead of.

HDI nosecone transducer included. The kit ships with the HDI (Hybrid Dual Imaging) nosecone transducer that mounts in the lower unit of the trolling motor. The HDI nosecone delivers Lowrance CHIRP sonar plus DownScan Imaging directly to compatible Lowrance fish finders - high-resolution down-imaging plus traditional CHIRP fish-targeting sonar in one transducer. The nosecone install is integrated into the trolling motor body - no external transducer to mount on the bow, no separate cable to manage.

Optional Active Imaging 3-in-1 upgrade. For owners who want extreme high-resolution imaging, Lowrance offers an optional Active Imaging 3-in-1 nosecone (sold separately) that adds SideScan Imaging to the standard CHIRP and DownScan capabilities. The Active Imaging 3-in-1 upgrade is the right call for serious structure fishermen who need side-looking imaging to find fish-holding cover beyond the immediate down-view of the boat.

Fly-by-wire steering. The Ghost uses electronic fly-by-wire steering - no physical cables between the foot pedal / remote and the motor. The fly-by-wire system gives you the instant, smooth steering feel of a traditional cable-steer trolling motor without the wear / drag / failure modes of physical steering cables. Cable steering systems develop binding and play over time as the cables stretch and wear. Fly-by-wire eliminates that failure mode entirely and the steering feel stays consistent over the motor's life.

Configurable foot pedal with quick-access keys. The foot pedal includes Anchor Mode and Heading Mode quick-access keys with LED status indicators and audible engagement feedback - press to engage, the LED lights and the pedal beeps to confirm. Programmable shortcut buttons let you assign frequently-used functions (waypoint mark, Power-Pole anchor control, custom shortcuts) to one-touch access. Flip Switch lets you operate the trolling motor from either side of the pedal - critical when you're standing at the bow and want to step on the pedal from the off-side without re-orienting.

Power-Pole shallow water anchor integration. The pedal's programmable shortcut buttons can directly control Power-Pole shallow water anchors - drop / raise the anchor with one button on the trolling motor pedal instead of using a separate Power-Pole controller. For boats running both a Ghost and Power-Pole anchors, this integration is a meaningful workflow improvement.

Total touchscreen integration with HDS / Elite Ti2. When connected to a compatible Lowrance HDS LIVE, HDS Carbon, or Elite Ti2 chartplotter, the Ghost integrates fully with the chartplotter touchscreen. Steer the boat, adjust speed, set up route navigation, anchor at the current location, drop waypoints - all from the chartplotter. The integration is the deepest in the recreational trolling motor market and is the killer feature for anglers running Lowrance helm electronics.

Anchor mode - own your spot. Anchor Mode locks the boat on any waypoint regardless of wind or current - press the foot pedal Anchor key to anchor at your current location, or select a waypoint on the chartplotter and press Anchor to navigate to and hold at that waypoint. The motor's GPS-driven anchoring keeps you precisely on the spot until you cancel. For tournament fishing or fishing over isolated structure, this eliminates the constant manual control needed to stay on a productive spot in wind.

Heading mode. Heading Mode locks the boat on a constant compass heading and the motor automatically adjusts steering to maintain that heading regardless of wind / current. Press a direction button to change heading by a set increment. For trolling techniques where you want to maintain a specific bearing across a fishing area without constantly adjusting steering, Heading Mode does the steering work for you.

Interference-free brushless. Beyond the noise reduction, the Ghost's brushless motor emits zero electromagnetic interference - which means no interference with Lowrance fish finders, GPS receivers, VHF radios, or other onboard electronics. Older brushed trolling motors generated significant electrical noise that sometimes interfered with sensitive electronics on the same boat. The Ghost eliminates that issue entirely.

3-year warranty. Lowrance backs the Ghost with a 3-year warranty - longer than the typical 2-year warranty on competing trolling motors and a confidence signal about the build quality. Service runs through the Lowrance authorized service network. Save the receipt and original packaging if practical for warranty service.

Frequently asked questions

Will the 60-inch shaft fit my boat?

60 inches is the longer-shaft option in the Ghost line, sized for boats with taller bow heights - bigger fiberglass bass boats, raised-deck walleye boats, deep-V hulls with elevated foredecks. For shorter bow heights, the matching 52-inch shaft variant is correct. Measure your bow height (waterline to trolling motor mount) and target a prop depth of 4-6 inches below the waterline when deployed. Wrong shaft length causes cavitation in waves (too short) or prop drag (too long).

What's the difference between 97 lb and 120 lb thrust?

Same motor. 97 lb is when you wire it for 24V (two batteries in series). 120 lb is when you wire it for 36V (three batteries in series). The dual-voltage capability lets you start on 24V now and upgrade to 36V later by adding a third battery and re-wiring - no new motor needed. For boats over 19 feet or in heavy wind / current, the 36V / 120 lb config is the right choice. For smaller boats or calmer conditions, 24V / 97 lb is plenty.

Why brushless?

Three real advantages: significantly quieter underwater operation (no commutator brush noise), 60 percent better runtime efficiency (more thrust per amp from the battery), and effectively unlimited motor life (no brushes to wear out). Plus zero electromagnetic interference with onboard electronics. For serious anglers who fish all day, fish in quiet conditions where motor noise spooks fish, or run a complex electronics suite on the boat, brushless is the visible upgrade over older brushed alternatives.

Does it work with my fish finder?

Full integration works with Lowrance HDS LIVE, HDS Carbon, and Elite Ti2 chartplotters - touchscreen control of the trolling motor from the chartplotter, plus deep waypoint / anchor / GPS integration. The included HDI nosecone transducer feeds CHIRP sonar and DownScan Imaging to the same Lowrance chartplotters. For other-brand fish finders, the trolling motor still functions normally as a standalone trolling motor but you don't get the deep integration features.

What's the TMR-1 remote do?

The TMR-1 is the included hand-held wireless remote - 30-foot range, full motor control (steering, speed, anchor mode, heading mode, waypoint marking). Goes on a lanyard around your neck and gives you motor control from anywhere on the boat. For owners who fish standing up at the bow or fight fish from the cockpit, the remote is the primary control surface. The included foot pedal works in addition to (not instead of) the remote.

What's Anchor Mode?

Anchor Mode uses GPS to lock the boat on a fixed location regardless of wind or current. Press the foot pedal Anchor key to anchor at your current location, or select a waypoint on the chartplotter and press Anchor to navigate to and hold at that waypoint. The motor handles the constant steering / thrust adjustments needed to stay on the spot. For tournament fishing or fishing over isolated structure, this eliminates the constant manual trolling motor control needed to stay productive.

Can I use Power-Pole anchors with it?

Yes - the foot pedal's programmable shortcut buttons directly control Power-Pole shallow water anchors. Drop or raise the anchor with one button on the trolling motor pedal instead of using a separate Power-Pole controller. For boats running both a Ghost and Power-Pole anchors, the integration is a meaningful workflow improvement during active fishing.

What about saltwater?

The Ghost is freshwater-only. Don't use it in saltwater - it'll corrode out within a season or two. For saltwater applications, you'll need a saltwater-rated trolling motor from another manufacturer or wait for Lowrance to release a saltwater Ghost variant.

What batteries do I need?

24V system: two 12V deep-cycle marine batteries wired in series. 36V system: three 12V deep-cycle marine batteries wired in series. Battery type options: flooded lead-acid (cheapest, heaviest, shortest service life), AGM (mid-tier, sealed, longer life), or lithium LiFePO4 (most expensive upfront, lightest, longest life and best long-term value). Recommended capacity 100 Ah per battery for typical day-fishing use.

What about lithium battery compatibility?

The Ghost is compatible with LiFePO4 lithium battery banks. The brushless motor and the variable-speed control both work fine with lithium chemistry. Make sure you're using lithium batteries with built-in BMS (battery management system) for low-voltage protection. Lithium gives you 1/3 the weight, 2-3x the cycle life, and faster recharge than equivalent AGM at substantial upfront cost - for tournament anglers where weight matters, it's the right call.

What cable size and breaker?

For 36V / 120 lb thrust operation, use 4 AWG marine-grade tinned cable from the battery bank to the trolling motor for runs under 8 feet. For 24V / 97 lb operation, 6 AWG is sufficient. Use a 60A circuit breaker on the positive side near the battery bank. Don't share the trolling motor circuit with other heavy loads - voltage drop on shared circuits causes the motor to operate at reduced performance.

What's the warranty?

3-year warranty - longer than the typical 2-year warranty on competing trolling motors and a meaningful confidence signal about the build quality. Service runs through the Lowrance authorized service network. Save the receipt and original packaging if practical for warranty service. Standard practice for any premium marine purchase.
