Raymarine Axiom Pro 16 RVX MFD with RealVision 3D + 1kW CHIRP — Product description

The Raymarine Axiom Pro 16 RVX is the 16-inch glass-bridge multifunction display in the Axiom Pro line. RealVision 3D sonar with built-in 1kW CHIRP, the bright FHD IPS optical-bonded display that reads in any sunlight, the quad-core processor that runs multiple apps without slowing, full Navionics+ North America chart preloaded, and the LightHouse OS interface. The right MFD for offshore sportfish, cruisers, and serious-build helms that need a big display with networked-helm capability.

The Raymarine Axiom Pro 16 RVX MFD (part E70373-00-NAG) is the 16-inch flagship in the Axiom Pro line, the helm display that defines the modern glass-bridge build. RealVision 3D sonar built in, 1kW CHIRP sonar built in, the FHD 1920 x 1080 IPS optical-bonded display that delivers stunning color and contrast in direct sunlight, the quad-core processor that runs RealVision 3D plus chart plus radar plus video plus the LightHouse OS apps simultaneously without slowdown, and the Navionics+ North America chart preloaded and ready to navigate the moment you power up. For serious offshore sportfish, cruising powerboats, and any helm build where the display is the centerpiece of the navigation suite, the Axiom Pro 16 RVX is the standard.

What separates the Pro from the standard Axiom. Three things. The RVX suffix means built-in RealVision 3D sonar plus 1kW CHIRP sonar built into the MFD itself (so you don't need a separate BlackBox sonar module for those features). The Pro line uses the brighter optical-bonded IPS display vs. the standard Axiom's sufficient-but-not-flagship LCD. And the Pro has additional rear-panel I/O including dedicated radar, transducer, and video ports, so it's ready for a fully networked helm without needing as many external interface modules.

The 16-inch FHD 1920 x 1080 IPS display is the practical reason to step up to the 16-inch Axiom Pro vs. the 12 or 9 inch variants. At 16 inches diagonal with FHD resolution, you have genuinely usable real estate for serious split-screen work. Run chart plus radar plus traditional sonar plus RealVision 3D plus video plus the engine instruments, all on one display, with each panel still big enough to read at helm distance. Optical bonding eliminates the air gap between the touchscreen layer and the LCD, which means no internal reflections, much better outdoor readability, and improved contrast under all lighting conditions including direct overhead sun.

HybridTouch control combines the touchscreen interface with physical buttons and a control knob on the right side of the bezel. Touchscreen handles the operations that touch is good at: zoom, pan, select, navigate menus. The hardware buttons handle the operations that touch is bad at when the screen is wet or your hands are salty: confirming critical inputs, marking waypoints, switching pages, adjusting common settings. The combination means you don't have to fight a touchscreen in conditions where pure touch interfaces become unreliable.

The quad-core processor is the headline performance specification. Older MFDs with single or dual-core processors slow down or stutter when running multiple apps simultaneously (especially when RealVision 3D and radar are both running). The quad-core processor in the Axiom Pro handles all the typical helm apps simultaneously without noticeable slowdown. App switching is instant, chart panning is smooth, sonar updates without lag.

RealVision 3D sonar is the feature that changes how you fish structure. The display shows the bottom and the structure beneath the boat in genuine 3D, with fish marks suspended at their actual depths in three-dimensional space. Sweep around the boat with the camera angle and you can visualize where the structure is and where the fish are relative to your position. Compared to traditional 2D sonar, RealVision 3D dramatically reduces the time you spend mentally interpreting flat sonar returns into 3D positions.

1kW CHIRP sonar built into the MFD is the offshore performance specification that matters for deep-water sportfishing. 1kW transmit power lets the sonar reach down past 1500 feet for marking pelagic fish over deep structure, sub-bottom layering, and the deep-water targets that lower-power sonars miss entirely. CHIRP modulation adds the tight target separation that makes individual fish marks distinguishable instead of merging into clouds. Connect a 1kW CHIRP transducer (sold separately, multiple options for different fishing applications) and the Axiom Pro becomes a serious offshore sounder.

The Navionics+ USA and Coastal Canada chart preloaded is the chart package that ships with the NAG suffix variant of the part number. Full vector chart coverage of all U.S. coastal and inland waters plus the Canadian coast, with high-resolution depth shading, the SonarChart Live feature that builds custom bathymetry as you fish, easy-routing for automatic safe-route generation, and the daily chart updates available via the Boating app. Both Navionics+ and Navionics Vision+ chart upgrades are supported via SD card.

Networking. Native NMEA 2000 connection for engine, autopilot, instrument, and accessory data. Native NMEA 0183 for legacy electronics integration. SeaTalkng for connecting Raymarine's full instrument and autopilot ecosystem. RayNet Ethernet for high-speed networking with additional Axiom displays, Cyclone or Quantum solid-state radar domes, sonar BlackBox modules, and the broader Raymarine ecosystem. Multiple Axiom Pros can run on the same RayNet network with full sonar, chart, and waypoint sharing.

Radar compatibility includes the Cyclone solid-state pulse-compression radar and the Quantum series. Cyclone is the latest-generation Raymarine radar with very high target resolution and the integrated Doppler bird-finder for offshore tournament use. Quantum is the proven solid-state pulse-compression radar that's now the standard for most recreational offshore use. Either dome connects directly to the Axiom Pro 16 via the rear-panel radar port (no separate interface required) and shows up as a chart overlay or in a dedicated radar panel.

Video integration includes both video over IP (for IP cameras connected via the RayNet network) and analog video input (for older analog camera systems). Show camera feeds in dedicated panels or as chart overlays. Useful for engine room monitoring, side-decks, and security camera coverage at the dock.

Thermal camera integration is supported via Raymarine's compatible thermal camera lineup. ClearCruise IR object detection automatically alerts the helmsman to hazards in the vessel's path detected by the thermal camera. Useful for offshore night running and reduced-visibility conditions where the thermal camera sees what the eye and standard radar both miss.

The IPX6 / IPX7 waterproof rating is what you'd expect for a flagship marine MFD. The display is sealed against rain, spray, and brief immersion. Mount it in any open helm, fly bridge, or center console position without worrying about water intrusion.

What this MFD isn't. It is not a standalone fishfinder. it is a full multifunction display with built-in fishfinder capability among many other functions. It is not the Axiom XL or Axiom 2 Pro line (those are different generations / form factors). It is not a transducer-included SKU. you'll need to order the appropriate Raymarine 1kW CHIRP and RealVision 3D-capable transducer separately based on your hull type and target depth range.

2-Year Limited Raymarine warranty. Same-day shipping before 3 PM ET on in-stock units.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Axiom Pro and standard Axiom?

Three differences. (1) The Pro has the brighter optical-bonded IPS display for better outdoor readability. (2) The Pro line includes the RVX models with built-in RealVision 3D and 1kW CHIRP sonar (you don't need a separate BlackBox module for those features). (3) The Pro has additional rear-panel I/O including dedicated radar, transducer, and video ports, so it's wired for a fully networked helm with fewer external interface modules. For serious offshore and glass-bridge builds, Pro is the right call. For smaller boats and simpler helms, standard Axiom is more cost-effective.

Does it include a transducer?

No. The Axiom Pro 16 RVX includes the built-in 1kW CHIRP and RealVision 3D sonar processing in the MFD itself, but you need to order the appropriate transducer separately. The right transducer depends on your hull type, target fishing depth range, and whether you want CHIRP only or CHIRP plus RealVision 3D. Common pairings: the CPT-S (CHIRP) and CPT-200 (CHIRP plus RealVision 3D) transom-mount transducers, or various 1kW thru-hull options for serious offshore work.

What's RealVision 3D and how does it help me fish?

RealVision 3D is a sonar presentation that shows the bottom and the structure beneath the boat in true 3D, with fish marks suspended at their actual depths in three-dimensional space. You can sweep the camera angle around the boat and see where the structure and fish are relative to your position. Compared to traditional 2D sonar where you have to mentally interpret a flat returns image into 3D positions, RealVision 3D shows you the picture directly. Especially useful for fishing offshore wrecks, deep humps, and any structure where understanding the 3D geometry helps you position the bait.

What does the 1kW CHIRP power rating get me?

Range and target resolution at depth. 1kW transmit power lets the sonar reach down past 1500 feet (with the appropriate transducer), which is where pelagic fish live in deep offshore water and where lower-power sonars stop seeing useful returns. CHIRP modulation adds tight target separation so you can distinguish individual fish marks instead of seeing clouds of merged returns. For inshore fishing in less than 200 feet, 1kW is more power than you need (a 600-watt CHIRP is fine). For serious offshore deep-water work, 1kW is the right power class.

What charts come preloaded?

Navionics+ USA and Coastal Canada (the NAG suffix on the part number indicates this chart set). Full vector chart coverage of all U.S. coastal and inland waters plus the Canadian coast, with high-resolution depth shading, the SonarChart Live feature that records custom bathymetry as you fish, easy-routing for automatic safe-path generation, and daily chart updates available via the Boating app. You can upgrade to Navionics Vision+ or use C-MAP charts via SD card.

Will my older Raymarine network work with this?

Yes. The Axiom Pro 16 includes both SeaTalkng (for connecting older Raymarine instruments and autopilots) and RayNet Ethernet (for the modern Raymarine network). Most legacy Raymarine accessories work with the Axiom Pro via SeaTalkng. NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 are also native, so non-Raymarine instruments and engines work too.

Can I run multiple Axiom Pros on the same boat?

Yes. Multiple Axiom Pros (or mixed Axiom Pro and standard Axiom) on the same RayNet Ethernet network share sonar, charts, waypoints, routes, tracks, and apps between displays. Touch any display to control any function. The most common big-boat config is two Axiom Pro 16s side by side at the helm running shared sonar and shared charts, with one display configured to show chart and the other to show sonar (the configurations swap with one tap if conditions change).

What's HybridTouch?

Touchscreen interface combined with physical buttons and a control knob on the right side of the bezel. Touch handles the operations that touch is good at (panning, zooming, menu navigation, app switching). Physical buttons handle the operations that touch is bad at when the screen is wet or your hands are salty (confirming critical inputs, marking waypoints, page switching). The combination is more reliable in real marine conditions than a pure touchscreen interface.

What radars work with this?

All current Raymarine solid-state radars connect directly via the rear-panel radar port. Cyclone (the latest-generation high-resolution pulse-compression radar with Doppler bird-finder integration) and the Quantum series (the proven solid-state pulse-compression radar) both plug directly in. The Magnum open-array radar also works with appropriate interfaces. Older Raymarine HD Color radars work via the radar interface module.

How does video integration work?

Two paths. IP cameras connect via the RayNet Ethernet network and show as IP video sources. Analog cameras connect via the analog video input on the rear panel. Either way, video appears in dedicated panels or as overlays. Useful for engine room monitoring, side-deck and bow cameras, security at the dock, and thermal camera feeds.

What's the install footprint?

The 16-inch chassis measures larger than typical helm dash apertures, so most installs are flush-mount in a custom-cut helm dash or in a glass-bridge bezel kit. The unit is also bracket-mountable with the bracket sold separately. Plan the install with a measurement template before cutting the dash. Detailed mounting templates are in the install manual.

What's the warranty?

Standard 2-Year limited Raymarine warranty on parts and workmanship. Service runs through the Raymarine authorized dealer network in the U.S.
