GOST NT-Evolution Satellite Tracking and Security Package — Product description

GOST's flagship satellite tracking and onboard security system. The NT-Evolution combines third-generation Nav-Tracker satellite tracking over the Inmarsat network with the Marine Magellan wireless sensor platform, supporting up to 32 wireless sensors, 16 key fob remotes, and 8 wireless relays for AC or DC vessel control. Ships as a complete package with antenna, cables, and two key fobs.

The GOST NT-Evolution is a hybrid satellite tracking and onboard security system that combines the third-generation GOST Nav-Tracker (satellite-based vessel location tracking) with Marine Magellan core wireless sensor technology (onboard intrusion detection, environmental monitoring, and vessel control). It's the all-in-one option for owners who want global vessel tracking and onboard security from a single control unit, with the install footprint of a single panel rather than two separate systems.

Satellite tracking runs over the Inmarsat network of low-earth-orbit satellites, which gives the NT-Evolution true global coverage including offshore and polar waters where cellular tracking is useless. Position reports go to the GOST third-generation tracking website, which renders the vessel position on an integrated Google Earth interface that the owner accesses from any browser. Geo-fence boundaries trigger immediate alerts when the boat moves outside an approved zone (useful for boats kept on a mooring or at a slip), and movement alerts notify the owner when the boat starts moving from a stationary position.

The onboard security side is what differentiates the NT-Evolution from a pure tracking system. The IP-rated enclosure houses the GOST Marine Magellan wireless sensor hub, which accepts up to 32 individual wireless sensors. The sensor menu covers the situations boat owners actually worry about: door and hatch contacts (for cabin doors, engine hatches, lazarettes, and lockers), motion detectors (cabin interior, cockpit, helm), shock sensors (for hull intrusion), bilge water level sensors (for unattended flooding), shore-power sensors (for AC disconnect alerts), and temperature sensors (for refrigeration monitoring or engine room overheat).

Sixteen key fob remotes are supported on the system. The two fobs in the package handle the typical primary and secondary user, owner plus partner, captain plus first mate, with the additional 14 fob slots available for crew, family members, or guests. Each fob is individually registered and can be revoked from the GOST website if it's lost, without affecting the rest of the system. The fobs arm and disarm the security system, trigger panic alarms, and control any wireless relays the owner programs.

The eight wireless relays are the vessel-control layer that turns the NT-Evolution into more than just an alarm system. Each relay can drive a 12V or 24V DC load (cockpit lights, deck lights, bilge pumps, hatch motors) or a 120/240V AC load (cabin lighting, shore-power switching, entertainment systems) up to its rated current. Relay programming is the part most owners customize, common configurations include flashing cockpit lights as a deterrent when an alarm triggers, sounding a 110 dB siren, sending an automated text message via the satellite link, or tying a relay into a home security system so that the home alarm goes off when the boat (kept behind the house at a private dock) is being tampered with.

The hardwired zone input is the backup channel for security devices that prefer wired connectivity over the wireless mesh, useful for high-reliability sensors at the helm or for legacy alarm hardware the owner wants to integrate without replacing.

The package includes everything needed for a typical install: the NT-Evolution control unit with built-in Marine Magellan core, two GOST key fobs (with seven additional fob slots available for purchase), the satellite antenna, a 30-foot antenna cable for running the antenna up to a clear-sky mounting location (typically the radar arch or mast), a 6-foot power cable for connecting to the boat's 12V or 24V house bank, and the covert antenna mounting bracket that lets the antenna be installed discreetly (the bracket is designed to hide the antenna footprint from casual visual inspection while keeping the antenna pattern clear).

Service activation through GOST is required to bring the satellite tracking online. The control unit ships hardware-ready but needs a subscription to activate the Inmarsat connection. GOST sells annual subscriptions in a few tiers depending on how often position reports are sent (more frequent reports cost more, but typical recreational service is 4 to 12 times per day plus on-demand position polls). Cellular tracking can be added as a backup channel where coverage allows, for owners who want both belt and suspenders.

Frequently asked questions

What's in the package?

The NT-Evolution control unit with built-in Marine Magellan core, two GOST key fob remotes, the satellite antenna, a 30-foot antenna cable, a 6-foot power cable, and the covert antenna mounting bracket. That's enough hardware to install the system on a typical boat without buying additional cables or mounts.

Do I need to subscribe to a service to use it?

Yes, satellite tracking requires an active subscription through GOST. The control unit is hardware-ready out of the box, but the Inmarsat connection needs activation before position reports start. GOST sells annual subscriptions in tiers based on report frequency.

What network does it use for satellite tracking?

The Inmarsat network of low-earth-orbit satellites, which gives true global coverage including offshore and polar waters where cellular tracking is unusable.

How many sensors does it support?

Up to 32 individual wireless sensors, plus 1 hardwired zone input. The wireless sensor menu covers door and hatch contacts, motion detectors, shock sensors, bilge water level sensors, shore-power sensors, and temperature sensors.

How many key fobs can I have on the system?

Up to 16 individually registered fobs. The package includes 2, with the remaining 14 slots available for purchase as additional users (crew, family, guests). Lost fobs can be revoked individually from the GOST website without affecting the rest of the system.

What do the wireless relays do?

They drive vessel loads when programmed events occur. The eight relays can each drive a 12V or 24V DC load or a 120/240V AC load up to their rated current. Common uses include flashing cockpit and deck lights as a deterrent when an alarm triggers, sounding a 110 dB siren, switching shore power, or tying into a home security system so the home alarm sounds when the boat is being tampered with.

Does the system work if I'm out of cellular range?

Yes, this is the main advantage of satellite tracking over cellular tracking. The Inmarsat network covers anywhere on the globe (excluding the polar caps above certain latitudes), so position reporting and alert delivery continue regardless of cellular availability.

Can I see the boat's position on a map?

Yes. The GOST third-generation tracking website renders the boat's position on an integrated Google Earth interface accessible from any browser. Position history (the boat's track over time) is also displayed.

What's geo-fencing?

A virtual boundary defined around the boat's normal location (mooring, slip, or storage). When the boat moves outside the geo-fence (theft, drift, or unauthorized use), the system sends an immediate alert via satellite. You can set multiple geo-fences for different normal locations.

What's the install footprint?

The control unit is mounted in a dry, accessible location (typically behind a helm panel or in a dedicated electronics cabinet). The satellite antenna mounts on a clear-sky location (radar arch, mast, or hardtop), with the 30-foot cable handling the run. The covert mounting bracket lets the antenna be installed discreetly. Power is from the boat's 12V or 24V house bank via the 6-foot power cable.

What boat sizes does it work on?

GOST rates the platform from WaveRunner-class watercraft up to 150-meter mega yachts. The Marine Magellan wireless sensor mesh scales independently of vessel size, so the same control unit handles small boats with a few sensors and large yachts with the full 32-sensor complement.

Can I add cellular backup?

Yes, GOST offers a cellular tracking module that complements the satellite link as a redundant channel where cellular coverage is available. Belt-and-suspenders for owners who want the redundancy.
