It's a purpose-built kit, not a length of bulk hose you cut and hope for the best.

The UC128-SVS is Uflex's high performance outboard cylinder, the one built for bass boats, flats boats, and tournament rigs that see real speed and real torque at the wheel. A steering system is only as good as the plumbing that feeds it, and that's exactly what this kit handles. Two feet is a short run, meant for tight, clean installs where the helm pump and the cylinder sit close together behind the splashwell. Get the length right and you avoid extra hose coiling up and chafing against transom brackets, which is one of the most common ways these lines fail early.

Here's why the bend restrictors matter. Hydraulic steering hose doesn't like a hard bend right at the fitting. When you fill and bleed the system, use the correct marine hydraulic steering fluid specified for your SilverSteer setup and don't mix fluid types, since the wrong fluid can swell the seals inside the cylinder. Follow the bleed sequence in your Uflex manual and take your time getting the air out. A properly bled system is firm and quiet.

The kit carries CE certification and is UKCA compliant, so it meets the European and UK conformity standards, which is just a sign of the build quality Uflex puts into their steering line. For most boaters in the States, that's a nice bonus rather than a requirement, but it tells you these hoses are made to a real standard.
