Taylor Made C-Shape Dock Guard 16 ft White | 46053 — Product description

Taylor Made's C-Shape Dock Guard is white double-molded vinyl edging that caps the edge of your dock so your hull stops taking dings. You get 16 feet total, two 8-foot pieces, and it screws or nails right on.

Every boater who's brought a hull in against a bare dock edge knows the sound. That grind of gelcoat against a wood or aluminum corner. Taylor Made's C-Shape Dock Guard is the fix, and it's about as simple as marine gear gets.

This is white double-molded vinyl edging shaped like a C so it caps right over the edge of your dock, piling, or slip. The molded profile gives you a cushioned bumper on the outside face and a channel that hugs the dock edge underneath. When your boat kisses the dock coming in, the vinyl takes the hit instead of your hull. And it works both ways, so it protects the dock from the boat too.

You get 16 feet total in this retail pack, split into two 8-foot lengths. That's enough to run the high-contact zones where your boat actually touches, usually the corners and the section alongside your slip. Mounting is straightforward. Screw it or nail it down through the vinyl into the dock frame. No special hardware, no adhesive to cure, no waiting.

Where does it earn its keep? Fixed docks, floating docks, boat lifts, the edge of a bunk, anywhere a hull and a hard edge meet. It's a common install on wood docks where the corner has already chewed up a boat or two. It's also popular on aluminum-framed floating docks where the extruded edge is sharp enough to gouge.

The double-molded construction matters here. Single-wall vinyl guards tend to go brittle and crack after a couple of seasons in the sun. The double-molded profile holds its shape and stays flexible, so it keeps cushioning instead of splitting. White keeps it looking clean against most dock materials and it won't leave black scuff marks on a light hull the way some darker guards can.

One honest note: measure your dock edge before you order. The C profile is sized for standard dock edging, so if your edge is unusually thick you'll want to check the fit first. Not sure what you've got? We can talk it through before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

How much dock does this cover?

You get 16 feet total, packaged as two 8-foot lengths. Most owners run it on the corners and the stretch alongside the slip where the boat actually makes contact.

How does it mount?

Screw it or nail it straight through the vinyl into the dock frame. There's no adhesive to cure and no special hardware needed.

Does it protect my hull or the dock?

Both. The cushioned C profile sits between the two, so the vinyl takes the hit instead of your gelcoat, and the dock edge is covered at the same time.

What's it made of?

White double-molded vinyl. The double-molded profile stays flexible and holds its shape better than single-wall guards that go brittle in the sun.

Will it fit a floating dock?

Yes. The C-shape caps over the edge of fixed docks, floating docks, boat lifts, and similar. Measure your edge thickness first if it's unusually thick, so you know the profile will seat.

Why choose white over a darker guard?

White keeps a clean look against most dock materials and won't leave black scuff marks on a light-colored hull the way darker vinyl sometimes does.
