Taylor Made AeroBuoy 24-Inch Life Ring | 570001 — Product description

The Taylor Made AeroBuoy 24-inch life ring is the safety gear that earns its spot on the rail. Bright orange, 16.5 pounds of sea water buoyancy, and a white grab line all the way around. It's the throwable you want visible and reachable the second someone goes in.

The Taylor Made AeroBuoy 24-inch life ring is the kind of gear you hope you never have to grab, and you're glad it's there the second you do. Bright orange, built to float, mounted where the whole crew can see it. It's the classic ring buoy shape, 24 inches across, with a white grab line running the perimeter so someone in the water has something to hold onto.

The build is straightforward and made to live outside. A closed cell foam core does the floating, wrapped in a tough polyethylene shell that shrugs off sun, salt, and the occasional knock against the rail. It carries 16.5 pounds of sea water buoyancy, plenty to keep an adult's head above the surface until you can bring the boat around. The polypropylene grab line stays put and won't rot the way natural fiber line does after a season in the weather.

Where does it belong? On the rail of a cruiser, clipped to a bracket on a sportfish, hung on the aft deck of a pontoon. Anywhere you want a throwable that a panicked swimmer can spot in a hurry. The 24-inch size is big enough to be an easy target in the water and light enough to throw one-handed. Orange reads against blue water and gray chop alike, which is exactly the point.

A couple of honest notes. This ring ships with the perimeter grab line, not a long throwing line, so if you want to heave it downwind and haul someone back, add a length of floating throw rope and tie it off to the ring. And mount it where it's reachable, not buried in a locker under three fenders. A life ring only earns its keep if you can get to it in the two seconds you actually have. We keep these in stock, and we're happy to help you sort out a bracket or mount if you need one.

Frequently asked questions

What size is this life ring?

It's a 24-inch outside diameter ring buoy, one of the standard ring sizes. Big enough to be an easy target in the water and still light enough to throw with one hand.

How much weight will it float?

It's rated for 16.5 pounds of sea water buoyancy, which is plenty to keep an adult's head above the surface while you circle back.

Does it come with a throw rope?

It comes with a white polypropylene grab line around the perimeter for a swimmer to hold onto. It doesn't include a long throwing line, so add a length of floating throw rope if you want to heave it out and haul someone back.

What's it made of?

A closed cell foam core for flotation, a polyethylene outer shell that handles sun and salt, and a polypropylene grab line that won't rot like natural fiber.

Will it hold up mounted outside all season?

That's what it's built for. The polyethylene shell and polypropylene line are made to live out in the weather, so you can keep it on the rail where you can reach it.

Why orange?

Visibility. Bright orange stands out against blue water and gray chop, so a swimmer can spot it fast and so can anyone throwing it.
