Springfield Springlock SU Stand-Up Fishing Seat Package

Springfield Marine has been building boat seating longer than most of us have been fishing, and the Springlock SU package is a good example of why anglers keep coming back. If it's a thin cored floor, put a backing plate under it so the load spreads out and you don't get flex or a soft spot over time. It's a ten-minute job at install and it saves you headaches later.

The seat is non-foldable, so plan your storage. It doesn't collapse flat for a hatch or a locker. A lot of owners just pull the seat off the post when they're not using it or when they're storing the boat for winter, since the Quik-Tilt mount makes that quick. If you need the deck fully clear for a cast net or a cooler, popping the seat off is the move.

The gray vinyl and foam cushion are comfortable and easy to wipe down, but like any marine upholstery they'll last longer with a little protection. Constant direct sun is hard on vinyl over the years, so a seat cover when the boat's parked keeps the color and the seams looking new. Wipe salt and sunscreen off the cushion now and then and it'll hold up season after season.
