Sierra 18-1844K 3 In. Dry Joint Exhaust Spacer Kit (Restricted) — Product description

The Sierra 18-1844K is a 3-inch dry joint exhaust spacer kit built for restricted-cooling V-6 and V-8 sterndrive and inboard setups. It raises the riser to keep exhaust water where it belongs, and it ships with the gasket, bolts, and hardware you need to bolt it on and go.

If you're rigging or servicing a V-6 or V-8 sterndrive or inboard, this Sierra 18-1844K spacer kit is the part that sits between your exhaust manifold and the riser. It's a 3-inch dry joint spacer, which means it keeps the cooling water from crossing the manifold-to-riser joint. That dry joint design is what protects the engine from reversion, where water backs up toward the cylinders during shutdown.

This one is the restricted cooling version. It fits 2004 through 2016 sterndrive V-6 and V-8 engines in the 305, 350, and 377 CID range, plus 2002 through 2016 inboard V-8 engines at 350 and 377 CID, all non-EC. If your engine is on that list, this is a direct-fit replacement. If it isn't, check the height and cooling type before you order, because spacer kits aren't interchangeable across every block.

Everything you need to bolt it up comes in the box. You get the spacer, a fresh gasket, and the bolts and hardware. We'd swap the gasket any time this joint comes apart, so a kit like this saves you a second trip to the parts counter.

Frequently asked questions

What engines does the Sierra 18-1844K fit?

It's built for 2004 through 2016 sterndrive V-6 and V-8 engines at 305, 350, and 377 CID, plus 2002 through 2016 inboard V-8 engines at 350 and 377 CID, all in the non-EC versions.

What does dry joint mean?

A dry joint keeps cooling water from passing across the manifold-to-riser connection. It helps stop water from working its way back toward the exhaust valves after you shut the engine down.

What comes in the kit?

You get the 3-inch spacer, a new gasket, and the bolts and hardware you need to mount it. There's nothing else to buy to complete the joint.

What is the restricted cooling version for?

Restricted cooling meters the water flow through the exhaust for the non-EC applications listed. Make sure your setup calls for the restricted version and not a full-flow spacer before you order.

How tall is this spacer?

It's a 3-inch spacer. Height matters on these kits, so confirm your current spacer height before swapping if you aren't sure.
