Sea-Dog Rail Mount Rod Holder, White | 327161-1 — Product description

The Sea-Dog Rail Mount Rod Holder clamps to a boat rail and stands a single rod up out of the way. White polypropylene, built for salt and sun, with an 11-3/4 inch tube deep enough to keep your rod planted when the water gets bumpy. Simple, honest deck gear that just works.

The Sea-Dog Rail Mount Rod Holder is a simple, honest piece of deck gear. It clamps to a boat rail and gives you a secure spot to stand a single rod up out of the way. Molded from white polypropylene, it's built to live outdoors and shrug off salt, sun, and the odd knock from a tackle box.

This is the rod holder you reach for when you want your hands free. Trolling and waiting on a strike? Drop the rod in and let the holder do the work. Rigging a second line, tying on a new leader, or just cracking a drink between bites? Same deal. The tube stands 11-3/4 inches tall, so it cradles the rod butt with enough depth to keep things planted even when the boat's rolling in a chop.

It takes one rod, and the opening accepts rod handles up to 1-3/4 inches in diameter. That covers the vast majority of spinning and casting setups you'd run on a bay boat, center console, or pontoon. The polypropylene body won't corrode the way a cheap metal bracket does, and there's no finish to chip or flake off over a few seasons.

Where does it go? Anywhere you've got a rail. Bow rails, stern rails, pontoon fencing, T-top uprights. Anglers who fish a crowded deck like these because they get rods vertical and out of the walking lane. Run a few of them down one side and you've got a tidy rod rack without drilling into your gunwale.

One thing to know before you order: this is a rail-mount holder, so it needs a rail or tube to clamp onto. If your boat's set up for flush-mount or clamp-on gunwale holders, that's a different part. Not sure what fits your rail? Give us a shout and we'll sort it out.

Care is nothing. Rinse it with fresh water when you rinse the boat and it'll look right for years. No moving parts, nothing to grease, nothing to rust.

Frequently asked questions

What does this rod holder mount to?

It's a rail-mount holder, so it clamps to a boat rail or tube. Bow rails, stern rails, T-top uprights, and pontoon fencing all work. If your boat's set up for flush-mount holders instead, that's a different part.

How many rods does it hold?

One. It's a single-rod holder. Run several down one side of the deck if you want a row of them.

What size rod will it fit?

The opening takes rod handles up to 1-3/4 inches in diameter, which covers most spinning and casting setups.

What's it made of?

White polypropylene. It won't corrode or rust, and there's no painted finish to chip off. A freshwater rinse keeps it looking right.

How tall is the holder?

The tube stands 11-3/4 inches, deep enough to keep the rod planted when the boat's rolling.

Will it hold up to sun and salt?

That's what the polypropylene is for. It lives outdoors on the rail without corroding, and a rinse with fresh water when you wash the boat is all the maintenance it needs.
