RIGID SR-L Reverse Light Kit for 2024 Toyota Tacoma ARB Rear Bumper — Product description

RIGID's SR-L kit turns your 2024 Tacoma Trailhunter's dim factory backup bulbs into a wide wall of white light, with a red halo ring for a finished look. Two SR-L Spreaders, a plug-and-play harness, and a stainless bracket that bolts straight to the ARB steel rear bumper. No cutting, no guessing.

Anybody who's tried to back a Tacoma down a dark two-track knows the factory reverse bulbs are basically a night light. They throw a dim yellow glow maybe ten feet behind the tailgate, and past that it's guesswork. This RIGID kit fixes that. You get two SR-L Spreader lights that drop 1,452 raw lumens each straight behind the truck, so when you're reversing into a campsite or lining up a trailer hitch after dark, you can actually see what you're doing.

RIGID built this one specifically for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter and TRD Pro that ship with the ARB steel rear bumper. The lights seat into the two oval cutouts in that bumper, and the included stainless steel U-shaped bracket lines them up so they sit flush and square. No drilling into your bumper, no fabricating a mount. You use the factory hardware and the truck's own auxiliary hookup.

The harness is the part that makes this an afternoon job instead of a weekend one. It's plug-and-play, cut to match the 2024 factory wiring, so it taps the reverse circuit and lights up when you drop the shifter into R. No splicing, no adding a switch unless you want one. Plug it in, mount the lights, and you're done.

Each SR-L pulls just 1 amp at 14 volts, so the pair together barely registers on the electrical system. They run on anything from 9 to 36 volts, which means they don't care whether the truck's at a cold-crank low or charging high. The beam is RIGID's Wide Drive spreader pattern, 120 degrees across and 90 up and down, so instead of a tight spot you get a broad flood that fills the whole area behind the truck. That's exactly what you want for reversing. You're not trying to light up a target 200 yards out. You're trying to see the rock, the trailer tongue, and the kid's bike right behind the bumper.

The red halo is the other half of this kit. Each light carries a red LED ring around the main optic, so you get a clean red accent that matches the Trailhunter look and doubles as a courtesy marker. The white LEDs handle the actual reverse lighting. Housing is RIGID's black oval, 4.28 inches wide, 1.97 tall, and 1.875 deep, so it tucks into the bumper without sticking out and catching brush.

On the trail the numbers back up what you see. Each light peaks around 838 candela and pushes usable light about 29 meters back at 1 lux, stretching close to 58 meters at a quarter lux. In plain terms, you'll clearly light the ground and anything behind you well past where you'd ever reverse, with enough spill to catch movement off to the sides. Because it's a spreader and not a driving beam, you don't get a harsh hot spot that blows out your mirrors, just even coverage.

Who's this for? Overlanders and hunters mostly. If you camp off the truck, tow a trailer into unlit sites, or run backroads at night, the stock reverse lighting is the first thing you'll curse. If you daily the truck on lit streets and never reverse in the dark, you probably don't need it. But for anyone actually using a Trailhunter the way it was built to be used, this is one of the cheapest, cleanest upgrades you can bolt on.

Install is straightforward for anyone comfortable pulling a few bolts. The lights seat into the bumper's oval pockets, the U-bracket holds them from behind, and the harness routes up to the factory auxiliary connector. Give the harness pins a shot of dielectric grease before you seat them and you won't fight corrosion down the road. Budget about an hour, less if you've done bumper wiring before. It's backed by RIGID's Limited Lifetime Warranty, same as their light bars, so the LEDs and housing are covered for as long as you own the truck. Everything you need is in the box: the pair of lights, the stainless bracket, the mounting hardware, and the plug-and-play harness.

Frequently asked questions

Will this kit fit my 2024 Tacoma?

It's built specifically for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter and TRD Pro that come with the ARB steel rear bumper. The lights seat into that bumper's oval cutouts and the harness matches the 2024 factory wiring.

Do I have to cut or splice any wires?

No. The harness is plug-and-play. It connects to the truck's factory auxiliary hookup for the reverse circuit, so the lights come on when you shift into reverse. There's no splicing into the factory harness.

How much brighter are they than the stock reverse lights?

Each SR-L puts out 1,452 raw lumens with a wide spreader beam. That's a big jump over the factory reverse bulbs, and it's aimed to flood the whole area behind the truck rather than a narrow spot.

What's the red light for?

Each light has a red halo LED ring around the main optic. It's an accent that matches the Trailhunter styling and works as a courtesy marker. The white LEDs handle the actual reverse lighting.

How much power do they draw?

About 1 amp per light at 14 volts, so roughly 2 amps for the pair. They run on anything from 9 to 36 volts.

Do I need to drill into my bumper?

No. The kit includes a stainless steel U-shaped bracket and uses the factory hardware. The lights drop into the oval pockets already in the ARB bumper.

What comes in the box?

Two SR-L Spreader lights, the stainless U-shaped bracket, mounting hardware, and the plug-and-play harness.

Are these reverse lights or driving lights?

They're set up as reverse lights, mounted rearward and wired to the reverse circuit. The Wide Drive spreader beam is chosen for close, broad coverage behind the truck rather than long-distance throw.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. RIGID backs them with a Limited Lifetime Warranty covering the LEDs and housing for as long as you own them.

How long does the install take?

Plan on about an hour. The lights seat into the bumper, the bracket holds them, and the harness routes to the factory auxiliary connector. A shot of dielectric grease on the connector pins keeps corrosion away.
