Rigid Industries REVOLVE 50 Inch LED Light Bar with Amber Backlight

Rigid Industries built the REVOLVE line for people who want one light bar that does two jobs. This is the 50-inch model, and it throws a genuine 25,410 raw lumens of white LED light in a combination spot and flood pattern. The spot optics push light way out in front of you, and the flood sections spread it wide and close. So you're not stuck choosing between distance and coverage. You get both in one bar.

What sets the REVOLVE apart is the built-in amber backlight. It's a second set of LEDs behind the main white array, and it lets the bar glow amber on its own. That's handy for a lot of reasons. Amber cuts through fog, dust, and spray better than white, and it's a lot easier on your night vision when you don't need full driving light. Running the deck at anchor, idling through a no-wake zone, picking a line down a trail at low speed, the amber backlight gives you presence and a little working light without blinding everyone around you. Wire it to its own switch and you can run amber alone, white alone, or both together.

The electrical side is straightforward but worth planning for. At 12 volts the bar pulls about 17 amps and draws 217 watts at full white output. That's a real load, so you'll want to run it through a relay with a fuse sized to that 17-amp draw, not tap it off a small accessory circuit. The good news is the REVOLVE accepts anything from 9 to 36 volts, so it drops into a 12-volt boat or truck and it's just as happy on a 24-volt system without a converter. The amber backlight pulls a little extra on top of the main draw, which is another reason to give it a dedicated switched circuit.

A quick word on care. It's an aluminum housing with a clear lens over the optics, and like any exterior light it lasts longer if you look after it. Rinse the salt and grime off when you rinse the rest of the boat or rig, and check the mounting hardware now and then. Big bars see a lot of vibration at speed, so it's worth adding thread locker or lock washers to the bracket bolts on anything that pounds, like an outboard boat or a washboard trail.

Physically, it's a black aluminum housing standing 2.6 inches tall with a clear lens. Rigid ships it with bolt-on mounting brackets and the hardware to hang it, so you're not sourcing feet separately. Fifty inches is a big bar. On a boat it's a natural fit across a hardtop or the leading edge of a T-top. On a truck or overland rig it spans a roof rack or a bumper hoop. Measure your mounting surface before you order. A 50-inch bar wants a flat or gently curved run of at least that length, and on tight or heavily curved surfaces you may need to fabricate a bracket to get the angle right.

Who's this for? Anyone who runs after dark and wants a lot of usable light from a single, clean-looking bar. Offshore crews docking at 2 AM, overlanders working a dark trail, work trucks that need to light up a job site. The spot and flood combo is the most versatile beam pattern Rigid offers, and the amber backlight adds a second mode most bars in this class just don't have. If all you need is a small pod of trail light, this is more bar than you need.
