RIGID Revolve 2.3-Inch Square Spot LED Pod Set with White Backlight

RIGID built the Revolve to do two jobs at once. Up front you get a real spot beam, 2106 raw lumens out of a 22-watt LED in a 2.3-inch square housing. Behind that beam sits a white backlight ring that glows around the edge of the pod. So you can run the spot for distance and the backlight as an accent or marker, together or on their own. This set ships as two pods with the mounting brackets and hardware in the box.

The spot beam is the key thing to understand before you buy. A spot throws a narrow, focused hot spot far down the road or across the water. It's built for reach, not spread. If you want to light up the whole area right in front of you, a spot isn't the pattern for that job. But if you need to see something a long way off, a pair of these punches well above their size. We like them as auxiliary distance lights on a T-top, a wakeboard tower, a bumper, or a UTV roll cage.

Power draw is friendly. Each pod pulls about 1.4 amps at 12 volts, so the set runs right around 2.8 amps total. That's light enough to wire into most accessory circuits without re-thinking your whole electrical plan. Still, do it right. Run the pair through a relay and an inline fuse sized to the load. And if you're mounting on a boat or anything that sees salt, hit the fasteners and bracket points with a little dielectric grease. Aluminum and salt don't get along where metal meets metal, and a dab of grease keeps corrosion from creeping in.

The white backlight is what sets the Revolve apart from a plain work light. It's a soft ring of white around the pod that runs separately from the main beam. Use it as a courtesy light, a marker, or just a bit of style on the dash-facing side of a tower. Wire it to its own switch and you've got two independent looks out of one light. Plenty of folks run the backlight low at the dock and save the spot beam for when they're actually underway.

RIGID has built its name on lights that survive vibration, heat, and weather, and the Revolve carries that same over-built feel in a small package. The black anodized aluminum housing doubles as a heat sink, which is how a 22-watt LED holds its output without cooking itself. There's no fan, no moving parts, nothing to service. You mount it, wire it, and forget it. The clear lens stands up to rocks, spray, and UV.

About those 2106 raw lumens per pod. Raw lumens is the light measured straight off the LED before the optics and lens factor in, so real-world throw comes down to the spot optic doing its job, which it does well here. Two pods side by side give you a genuinely useful cone of distance light for the size. It's a lot of reach out of something that fits in the palm of your hand.

Install is straightforward whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned rigger. The housing surface-mounts with the included brackets, so it bolts to most flat or tubular mounting points. Pick your spot, run the wiring through a fused, relay-switched circuit, seal your penetrations, and you're done. These are a good pick for anyone who wants compact, serious lighting without a giant light bar hanging off the boat or the truck.

One honest note. This is a spot-beam set, so it's not the right choice if you want broad, even fill lighting for a cockpit or a campsite. For that you'd want a flood or diffused pattern instead. And because it's a set of two matched pods, it's meant to run as a pair for balanced output. If you only need a single light you'll have a spare, which isn't the worst problem to have.
