Rigid Industries Q-Series Pro 7-Inch Spot LED Light

The Rigid Industries Q-Series Pro in the 7-inch square spot configuration is a serious auxiliary light built for one job. Reach. It's a single surface-mount pod that pushes 12,672 raw lumens through a tight spot beam, and it's meant for rigs that need to see well past where the factory headlights quit. The spot beam is the whole point here. Where a flood pattern spreads light wide and close for cornering and low-speed work, the spot focuses the output into a narrow column that carries down the trail. So if you're running open desert or a long two-track at speed, this is the pattern you want out front. A lot of guys pair a spot like this with a wider flood or driving pattern elsewhere on the rig to cover the near field, and that combination is hard to beat. On its own, the spot is your distance light.

About that lumen number. 12,672 raw lumens is the LED output measured at the diodes before it passes through the optics, so it's a spec you use to compare within Rigid's own lineup rather than a promise of exactly what lands downrange. What matters on the trail is that this is a high-output pod, and in a spot pattern that output turns into serious distance. Expect a bright, tight beam that pulls landmarks and obstacles out of the dark long before you'd otherwise pick them up.

Build quality is where the Q-Series Pro earns its price. The housing is powder-coated black, and it carries a GORE pressure-equalizing vent. That vent matters more than it sounds. As the light heats up and cools down, air pressure inside the housing changes, and the GORE membrane lets it breathe without letting water or dust in. That's what keeps condensation off the inside of the lens after a cold night or a creek crossing. The lens itself is unbreakable clear polycarbonate, so a thrown rock or a low branch isn't going to crack it.

On the electrical side, this light pulls 8.8 amps at 123 watts. That's real current, so wire it on its own fused circuit sized with headroom above that draw and use a relay if you're triggering it off a small switch. The good news is Rigid makes the install straightforward. It ships with a wiring harness that already has a switch built in, and it terminates in a Deutsch connector at the light. Deutsch connectors are the standard for a reason. They seal tight, they lock positively, and they hold up to vibration and weather far better than a crimp-and-pray splice. Plug it in, mount your switch, and you're running.

Mounting is surface mount with the included U-shape brackets and vibration isolators. The isolators are worth calling out. Off-road, constant vibration is what kills lights over time, and the rubber isolation between the bracket and the housing takes the edge off the harshest hits. Bolt the brackets to a bumper, a light tab, a roof rack, or a chase rack, set your aim, and lock it down. Everything you need to get it on the vehicle and wired is in the box: the light, the mounting hardware, the U-brackets, the vibration isolators, and the harness with switch and Deutsch connector.

One thing to be straight about. This is an off-road-use-only light. It isn't DOT-compliant for on-highway use, and the spot beam's raw output is not something you point at oncoming traffic. Keep it for the trail, the job site, the field, or the closed course, and switch it off when you hit the pavement. Used the way it's meant to be used, the Q-Series Pro 7-inch spot is about as much light as you can bolt to a single mount.
