Marinco 30A 125V 25' Molded Shore Power Cordset, Yellow

Shore power is one of those things you don't think about until you're at the dock with a dead cord and a fridge full of bait warming up. The Marinco 30A 25-foot molded cordset is the connection between your boat and the pedestal, and it's built to take the abuse that job hands out. If you run a larger trawler or you're bouncing between transient slips where the pedestal is a long walk from the boat, you'll want to keep a matching 30A extension aboard. Better to have the extra length coiled up than to come up short in a crosswind. And a quick word on length and load: the longer the run, the more voltage you drop, so if you're pulling hard on a 30A service with air conditioning and a water heater going at once, keep the total run as short as you reasonably can.

A few things we tell every boater. In saltwater, put a dab of dielectric grease on the pins before you plug in. It keeps corrosion off the contacts and makes the connection last years instead of seasons. The contacts are nickel-plated brass, which helps, but salt air gets into everything eventually. Store the cord loosely coiled, not kinked tight, especially in cold weather when the jacket stiffens up. And keep an eye on the strain relief where the cable meets the molded ends. That's the spot that takes the most flex, and once a molded end is damaged there's no field repair. You replace the cord. So treat the ends kindly and this one lasts a long time.

Who's this for? It's the right cord for a 25 to 35 foot powerboat, cruiser, or sailboat wired for 30A, 125-volt single-phase shore power. That covers the majority of boats at the average marina.
