Lumitec SeaBlaze X3 Spectrum Surface-Mount Underwater LED Light — Product description

The Lumitec SeaBlaze X3 Spectrum is a full-color RGBW surface-mount underwater LED light that throws 8,000 darkness-piercing lumens from a compact bronze housing. Its DryLock sealing and IP-rated build are made to survive the harshest saltwater, so you get any color you want with real reliability.

The Lumitec SeaBlaze X3 Spectrum is the full-color member of the SeaBlaze X3 family, and it's built for boaters who want to paint the water in any shade they like. This is a surface-mount underwater light, which means it bolts to the transom below the waterline with a single small through-hole for the wire, so you're not cutting a large opening in the hull. That makes it a far easier and less nerve-racking install than a thru-hull fixture, while still delivering a serious wall of light.

And it is a serious wall of light. The X3 produces 8,000 lumens of output, enough to cut through dark water and light up the area behind the boat so it glows. Because this is the Spectrum version, you get full RGBW color, so you can run classic blue at anchor, switch to green to draw bait, go white for cleaning fish or checking the water, or scroll through the full color range to match the mood. The color output comes from a mix of red, green, blue, and dedicated white emitters, so whites stay clean and colors stay saturated instead of washed out.

The X3 is the first Lumitec light to use their DryLock technology, and that's the part that should matter most to anyone who has watched an underwater light fog up or flood. DryLock combines advanced thermal management, leak protection, and moisture prevention into one sealing system, all engineered to keep water out and heat moving in an environment that punishes both. The light carries an IP68 rating and Lumitec rates the X3 platform to raise the bar on durability for surface-mount underwater lighting. It's CE certified as well.

Physically, the X3 is compact and clean. It measures 3.94 inches in diameter with a shallow 0.85-inch depth, so it tucks against the transom without hanging down into the water like a snag waiting to happen. The mounting hole is just half an inch. The housing is bronze, which is the right material for a fixture that lives full-time in saltwater, since it resists corrosion and stands up to galvanic conditions far better than plastic or lesser metals. Everything about the build says this is meant to stay down there for the long haul.

Electrically, the X3 Spectrum is flexible. It accepts a wide 10 to 30-volt DC input, so it works on both 12 and 24-volt boats without any fuss. Draw is 5.5 amps at 12 volts or 2.5 amps at 24 volts, with related power around 65 watts. Color temperature runs at 6500K on the white channel with a CRI of 70 or better, so the whites read bright and natural. The light is PLI enabled and supports Lumitec's Timed Toggled Protocol, which lets you cycle colors and modes right from a standard switch, and it's compatible with Lumitec's Poco control system if you want full app-style control of color and effects across your boat's lighting.

Who's it for? Anyone who wants the most flexible underwater light on their transom. Sportfishers love the ability to switch between bait-drawing colors and clean white for gaffing and cleaning. Sandbar and raft-up crowds love running color shows while the party's going. Cruisers just want a beautiful glow at anchor. The Spectrum gives all of them one fixture that does it all, and it does it with the sealing and materials to keep doing it season after season.

If you're stepping up from an older single-color light or adding underwater lighting for the first time, the SeaBlaze X3 Spectrum is about as capable as a surface-mount fixture gets. You get big output, the full color range, a compact bronze body, and DryLock sealing built for the worst the ocean throws at it.

Frequently asked questions

What colors can the X3 Spectrum produce?

This is the full-color RGBW version, so it can produce the entire color range plus a dedicated clean white. Run blue at anchor, green to draw bait, white for cleaning fish, or cycle through colors to match the moment.

Is this a surface-mount or thru-hull light?

It's surface-mount. It bolts to the transom below the waterline and only needs a small hole for the wire, so you avoid cutting a large opening in the hull. That makes for a much simpler install.

How bright is the SeaBlaze X3?

It produces 8,000 lumens, enough to cut through dark water and light up the area behind the boat. Lumitec calls it darkness-piercing output, and it lives up to the description.

What is DryLock technology?

DryLock is Lumitec's sealing system that combines advanced thermal management, leak protection, and moisture prevention. It's engineered to keep water out and heat moving, which is exactly what an underwater light needs to survive long term.

Will it work on my 12-volt boat?

Yes. The X3 accepts a wide 10 to 30-volt DC input, so it works on both 12 and 24-volt systems. Current draw is 5.5 amps at 12 volts or 2.5 amps at 24 volts.

How do I control the colors?

The light supports Lumitec's Timed Toggled Protocol, so you can cycle colors and modes from a standard switch. It's also compatible with the Lumitec Poco system for full app-style control of color and effects.

What's the housing made of?

The housing is bronze, which is the right material for a light that lives full-time underwater in saltwater. It resists corrosion and galvanic attack far better than plastic or lighter metals.

How big is it and how far does it stick out?

It measures 3.94 inches in diameter with a shallow 0.85-inch depth, so it sits close to the transom rather than hanging down into the water. The mounting hole is just half an inch.
