Lumishore LUX Light Control Module

The Lumishore LUX Light Control Module is the brain behind a LUX lighting setup. It's the piece that takes 12 or 24 volt DC power and turns it into full-spectrum CRGBW output across every light you've wired into the system. If you're running LUX downlights, courtesy lights, livewell lights, flood lights, or light bars, this module is required. Nothing in the LUX line comes alive without it.

What makes it worth the money is the color control. You get full-spectrum RGB plus tunable white from 2700K all the way to 6500K. That means a warm, relaxed glow at the dock in the evening and a crisp, cool white when you're cleaning fish or rigging lines after dark. One module, one set of lights, and you're covering both ends of that range without swapping bulbs or fixtures.

A single module drives up to 16 LUX downlights or courtesy lights. You control everything with momentary switches at the helm, so it works as a standalone system right out of the gate. No app required to get lights on the water. Want more, scenes, dimming presets, zone control? Wire it in alongside the EOS-LUX Command Center and the rest of the Lumishore LUX or EOS family, and the module becomes part of a full boat-wide lighting setup.

It helps to understand where this module sits. It carries the multi-channel driver electronics for the system, reads your switch inputs, manages each color channel, and feeds clean, regulated output down the line to every fixture. That's why one control module can run a whole set of lights in sync, and why the color stays consistent from the first light to the last. It's the difference between lights that just turn on and a lighting system that behaves like one.

Lumishore didn't skimp on the electronics protection, and that matters on a boat. The module carries an IP68 ingress rating, so it shrugs off the damp, humid spots where you'd actually mount it. Surge protection, reverse polarity protection, in-rush current protection, low voltage protection, and power line noise suppression are all built in. There's a soft-start circuit to protect the electronics on power-up, and ATRB, Automatic Thermal Roll Back, quietly dials things down if the module ever runs hot instead of just shutting off on you. It's also ISO 8846 ignition protected, which is the standard that matters when you're mounting electrical gear near fuel systems.

Power-wise it's easy to live with. The supply range runs from 10.5 to 31 volts DC, so it's happy on both 12V and 24V systems. Current draw is tiny, 0.2 amps at 12V and 0.1 amps at 24V, which means the module itself is barely a load on your house bank. A multi-channel internal driver with intelligent power management handles the actual light output, so each channel gets what it needs.

Installation is meant to be straightforward, but a few things are worth getting right. Give it a dedicated, properly fused circuit rather than sharing a crowded lighting breaker. Mount it somewhere dry and cool, a console or a dry section of the bilge is ideal, and keep it away from direct engine-compartment heat so the thermal roll-back never has a reason to kick in. And take your time with the data wiring on daisy-chained lights, getting those runs right the first time saves a lot of headaches.
