Lowrance ActiveTarget 2 Trolling Motor Shaft Mount

The ActiveTarget 2 Shaft Mount is Lowrance's optional upgrade bracket for putting an ActiveTarget or ActiveTarget 2 transducer on a round trolling-motor shaft. If your motor doesn't have the built-in ActiveTarget attachment points, or you simply want a cleaner, more adjustable way to carry the transducer, this shaft mount is the answer. It works with both the original ActiveTarget and the second-generation ActiveTarget 2 transducer, so it fits a wide range of live-sonar setups already on the water.

The heart of the mount is a cam-lock style clamp sized for round shafts and poles from 27 to 33 mm in diameter, which is about 1 1/16 to 1 5/16 inches. That covers Lowrance Ghost and Ghost X trolling motors as well as many other round trolling-motor shafts in that size band. Cam-lock is the part you'll appreciate every trip. You seat the clamp on the shaft, flip the lever, and it's locked. There's no wrestling with a bag of tools, and when it's time to trailer the boat or move the transducer, releasing it takes seconds.

Where this mount really earns its keep is adjustability. It moves between a Forward position, a Down position, and three Scout positions, labeled Scout Shallow, Scout Mid, and Scout Deep. That third Scout stop is the key difference from some other brackets, giving you an extra step of control over how far out and how deep you're scanning. Every position carries a clear alignment indicator, so you can dial in an angle and return to it exactly. In the Forward and Down positions the transducer sits at a zero-degree offset, which keeps your bait and the fish in the same frame for effortless tracking as a lure swims back toward the boat.

Think about how that plays out on the water. Early in the day you might run a Scout view to survey a flat and find where the fish are stacked. Once you've located them, you flip to Forward to watch your presentation and read the reaction of individual fish in real time. When they slide deeper, a quick move to Scout Deep keeps them in view. Because every change is indexed and repeatable, you spend your time fishing instead of fiddling with your electronics.

Installation is manageable for most anglers in one sitting. The kit includes a shaft collar sub-assembly, an arm sub-assembly, an adapter arm, and the assembly hardware. The adapter arm is what lets this mount carry the ActiveTarget and ActiveTarget 2 transducers cleanly and hold them steady through turns and deployment. A transducer that doesn't wander gives you a stable, trustworthy picture, which is the entire point of running forward-facing sonar in the first place.
