The JL Audio M200 is a 10-inch marine subwoofer built to add real low-end to a boat's audio system without eating up your whole console. It handles 250 watts RMS, throws deep, clean bass, and it's finished with a white sport grille that looks right at home on most helms and cockpits. Here's the part that makes the install easy. The M200 is an infinite-baffle subwoofer, so it doesn't need a sealed box. You mount it into a panel with a moderate amount of air space behind it, wire it up, and you're done. That's a big deal on a boat, where finding room for a ported enclosure usually means giving up a locker or cutting into rigging space. Cut the hole, drop it in, run your leads.

The cone is injection-molded polypropylene with a rubber surround and a marine-grade synthetic spider. That combination keeps the cone moving straight and under control, which is what gives you tight bass instead of a loose, boomy thump. Free-air resonance sits at 47.15 Hz and one-way excursion is 10 mm, so it moves enough air to be felt, not just heard. With 48.67 square inches of effective cone area behind that excursion, a single 10-inch driver moves real air. The M200 has RGB LED lighting built into the grille, so you can dial the color to match the rest of your boat's lighting or just set a mood at the sandbar after dark. The LEDs run on 10 to 14.4 volts DC and pull up to 220 mA at full brightness, wired through a 4-conductor 20 AWG flying lead with a waterproof connector. Everything about this sub is meant to live outside. It carries an IPX6 water and dust rating, and the connections and circuit boards are treated to resist corrosion from salt and sun. The driver is 10.84 inches across and sits 5.16 inches deep behind the panel, with the grille standing about 1.85 inches proud out front. The mounting hole is 8.75 inches and the bolt hole circle is 9.72 inches, so measure your panel before you cut. Give it a solid, flat mounting surface and seal around the cutout to keep spray out of the cavity.

The white sport grille on this model is interchangeable. JL Audio offers other grille styles and colors separately, so you can swap the look later without replacing the whole subwoofer. It's a nice touch if you refresh your boat's color scheme down the road, or just want the grille to blend into a darker panel.

In the box you get the subwoofer with its white sport grille, a 0.25-inch female crimp connector, a 0.185-inch female crimp connector, a water-resistant 4-pin connector for the LED lead, mounting screws, and the documentation. Wiring is straightforward with spade connectors on the speaker terminals.
