Humminbird LakeMaster VX - Southeast States Map Card — Product description

The Humminbird LakeMaster VX Southeast States card loads detailed depth contours for thousands of lakes, reservoirs and rivers across seven states onto your HELIX, SOLIX or APEX. Slide the SD card in and the water you fish stops being a blank blue shape and starts showing you where the fish live.

The Humminbird LakeMaster VX Southeast States card turns your Humminbird unit into a serious lake-fishing tool. It's a mapping SD card loaded with detailed depth contours for thousands of lakes, reservoirs and rivers across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee. Drop it in the card slot and the water you fish stops being a flat blue shape and starts showing you where the fish live.

If you run a HELIX, SOLIX or APEX, this is the map that unlocks the good stuff. We're talking clean, high-definition contours that let you read a point, a channel swing or a submerged hump the way a tournament angler does. Instead of guessing where the drop-off is, you see it. And on the big Southeast fisheries, from Guntersville down to the St. Johns, that kind of detail is the difference between idling around blind and setting up right on the structure that holds fish.

The feature we hear anglers rave about most is Shallow Water Highlight. You pick a depth, anywhere from 0 to 60 feet, and everything shallower than that lights up in easy-to-see red shading. Fishing a grass flat in three feet of water? Set it to three and the whole zone paints itself on your screen. It's great for running skinny water at first light without putting your lower unit at risk, and it's just as handy for finding the exact edge where a spawning flat drops into a creek channel.

Then there's Water Level Offset, and if you fish reservoirs that draw down, this one earns its keep. Lakes in this region swing a lot between full pool and winter drawdown. Water Level Offset lets you dial in the current level so the contour lines and shoreline on your map match what's actually out there today. A contour that reads 10 feet is 10 feet right now, not 10 feet at some pool level from three years ago. That keeps you off the rocks and on the fish.

VX Technology also brings five customizable color palettes, so you can set the map up to read the way your eyes like it, whether that's bright midday glare or a gray, low-light morning. Pair that with Depth Highlight, which paints a specific depth range across the whole map, and you can pattern a bite fast. Found them stacked at 18 to 22 feet on one point? Highlight that band and every other spot holding the same depth jumps out at a glance.

Setup couldn't be simpler. This is a standard SD card. It drops into the reader on your Humminbird and the maps load automatically. The card works with HELIX G3 and G3N and newer, all SOLIX units and all APEX units. One thing worth knowing up front: make sure your unit is running current software before you insert the card. A quick basemap and firmware update from the Humminbird site keeps everything talking, and it only takes a few minutes at the ramp or the night before a trip.

So who's this for? Any angler who fishes the Southeast and wants to stop leaving fish on the table. Tournament guys use LakeMaster to pre-fish new water from the couch and show up with a milk run already built. Weekend anglers use it to finally understand the lake they've fished for years. And if you travel to fish, having seven states of detailed maps on one card in your console beats juggling a stack of them.

Bottom line: if you run a Humminbird and fish anywhere from the Tennessee River down to Florida, the LakeMaster VX Southeast States card is one of the best upgrades you can make for the money. It doesn't need batteries, it doesn't need a subscription, and it makes every other piece of electronics on your boat work a little harder for you.

Frequently asked questions

What states does this card cover?

The Southeast States card covers lakes, reservoirs and rivers across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee. Thousands of waters on one card.

Which Humminbird units work with this card?

It works with HELIX G3 and G3N and newer, all SOLIX units and all APEX units. Make sure your unit is running current basemap and firmware before you load the card.

Is this a full-size SD card or a microSD?

It's a standard SD card. It drops straight into the card reader on your Humminbird and the maps load automatically, no computer or download needed.

What is Shallow Water Highlight?

It shades shallow water in easy-to-see red. You set the depth anywhere from 0 to 60 feet, and everything shallower than that lights up. It's great for running skinny water safely and finding the edge of a flat.

What does Water Level Offset do?

It lets you adjust the map to the current water level. On reservoirs that draw down through the season, that keeps the contour lines and shoreline accurate to what's actually out there today.

How many color palettes does it have?

VX Technology gives you five customizable color palettes, so you can set the map to read clearly in bright midday sun or low-light early mornings.

Do I need a subscription to use it?

No. There's no subscription and no annual fee. The maps live on the card, so once it's in your unit you're ready to fish.

Do I have to update my Humminbird first?

For best results, yes. Run the current basemap and firmware update from the Humminbird site before inserting the card. It only takes a few minutes and makes sure the maps display correctly.

Can I move the card between different Humminbird units?

Yes. You can pull the card and use it in any compatible HELIX, SOLIX or APEX. That makes it easy if you upgrade your unit or run more than one Humminbird.
