Humminbird LakeMaster VX Premium - Minnesota Map Card — Product description

The Humminbird LakeMaster VX Premium Minnesota card turns your HELIX, SOLIX, APEX, or XPLORE unit into a serious Minnesota fishing tool. You get high-detail lake contours, customizable VX color palettes, depth and shallow-water highlights, and full coverage of Lake of the Woods, both U.S. and Canadian waters. Drop the SD card in and read the bottom before you fish it.

If you fish Minnesota, you already know the water does a good job of hiding fish from you. The Humminbird LakeMaster VX Premium Minnesota card changes that. It's an SD card loaded with high-resolution lake mapping that drops straight into your Humminbird unit and turns a flat blue screen into a real read on the bottom. Deep breaks, shallow flats, the inside edge of a weedline, that little offshore hump nobody else is fishing. It's all right there before you ever wet a line.

This is the Premium tier of LakeMaster VX, so you're getting the upgraded mapping experience. VX Technology brings customizable color palettes to the table, and that sounds minor until you're staring at a washed-out screen in bright afternoon sun. Being able to set the contour colors to the exact contrast your eyes want makes structure jump off the display. You can tune the map to emphasize what matters and quiet down what doesn't.

Coverage is all Minnesota, and it goes deep. That includes the entire Lake of the Woods, both the U.S. and Canadian waters, which matters a lot if you run north for walleye. Big water, complicated structure, and a lot of border to keep straight. Having it charted in detail on the same card as your home lake means you're not swapping cards or guessing when the trip gets ambitious.

The feature set is where the Premium card earns its keep. Depth Highlight lets you pick a depth range and light it up in color across the whole map, so if the fish are stacked in 18 to 22 feet, you can see every stretch of the lake that holds that band. Shallow Water Highlight does the same thing for the skinny stuff, adjustable anywhere from 0 to 60 feet, which is gold when you're easing into spawning bays or trying to stay off the rocks. Water Level Offset keeps your contour lines honest when the lake is up or down from normal pool, so a 10-foot line still means 10 feet under your boat.

You also get 2D Shaded Relief for a clearer sense of how the bottom rolls and drops, Aerial Imagery so you can line up with real shoreline landmarks, and Chart Presets that let you save a couple of view setups and flip between them without digging through menus. On select HD lakes, SmartStrike takes your conditions, season, time of day, and water temp, and points you at the spots most likely to hold fish. It's not magic, but it's a smart place to start on a lake you've never seen.

Compatibility is straightforward. This card works with HELIX G3 and G3N and newer, all SOLIX units, all APEX units, and all XPLORE units. One thing to check before your first trip: your unit needs to be running current basemap software for the VX card to display everything correctly. It's a free update from Humminbird, and it's worth doing at the dock the night before, not at the landing at 5 a.m. Give yourself the time.

It all ties into the One-Boat Network too, so your Humminbird electronics stay on the same page and share the mapping you're running. Drop the card in, update your software, set your palette, and go fish. One quick heads-up on the fine print: this card carries a 1-Year Cartography Warranty, and because it's mapping data, opened packages aren't eligible for return. So make sure this is the right region and the right compatibility for your unit before you break the seal. If you're not sure, ask us. We'd rather get you the right card than run a return we both can't do.

Frequently asked questions

Which Humminbird units does this card work with?

It's compatible with HELIX G3 and G3N and newer, all SOLIX units, all APEX units, and all XPLORE units.

Do I need to update my unit before using the card?

Yes. Your unit needs current basemap software for the VX card to display correctly. HELIX 9-15 (G3N and newer) and all SOLIX need v1.031 basemap or newer, and HELIX 5, 7, and 8 (G3/G3N and newer) need v2.010 basemap or newer. It's a free download from Humminbird.

Does it cover Lake of the Woods?

Yes. You get the entire Lake of the Woods, both the U.S. and Canadian waters, plus detailed coverage across the rest of Minnesota.

What does VX Technology add?

VX Technology gives you customizable color palettes so you can set the map contrast to exactly what your eyes want, which makes structure and depth changes much easier to read in any light.

What is SmartStrike?

On select HD lakes, SmartStrike uses your season, time of day, and water conditions to point you toward the spots most likely to hold fish. It's a smart starting point on unfamiliar water.

What does Water Level Offset do?

It adjusts the charted contours to match the lake's actual water level, so a marked 10-foot line still reads 10 feet even when the lake is above or below normal pool.

What is the Shallow Water Highlight?

It highlights a shallow depth band on the map, adjustable anywhere from 0 to 60 feet, so you can quickly see skinny water when you're easing into bays or staying off the rocks.

What card format is it?

It comes on a standard SD card that inserts directly into your compatible Humminbird unit.

Can I return it after I open it?

This card carries a 1-Year Cartography Warranty, but because it's mapping data, opened packages aren't eligible for return. Confirm the region and your unit's compatibility before you break the seal, and if you're unsure, ask us first.

What's the difference between LakeMaster VX and VX Premium?

The Premium tier adds the upgraded feature set, including customizable VX color palettes and premium mapping performance, on top of the detailed lake coverage you get in the standard VX card.

Does it work with One-Boat Network?

Yes. The card ties into the One-Boat Network so your compatible Humminbird electronics stay synced and share the mapping you're running.
