Hella Marine H61922001 Amber LED Rocker Switch

The Hella Marine H61922001 is a straightforward, sealed on-off rocker switch with a built-in amber LED. Flip it up, the circuit goes live, and the amber lens glows so you can see at a glance what's running. That's the whole job, and it does it well. On a boat, a switch that quietly corrodes and fails two seasons in is a real headache. This is the kind of part Hella Marine built its name on, the fit-and-forget gear that just keeps working.

It's rated for 12 volts and up to 20 amps. Use marine-grade tinned wire, crimp on heat-shrink terminals, and protect the circuit with a fuse or breaker sized to the wire and load. Don't skip the fuse. A 20-amp switch in an unfused circuit is still an unfused circuit.

One thing to be clear about: this one ships without the safety cover. If you want the flip-up guard that keeps a knee or a stray line from bumping the switch on, that's a separate part. For most helm and dash locations the bare switch is fine. But if you're mounting it somewhere it could get knocked, like a low panel near the cockpit sole, the cover is worth adding. We'd rather tell you up front than have you surprised when it shows up without one.

Mounting is panel-style. You cut a rectangular opening in your dash or switch panel, drop the switch in, and it snaps home. Give some thought to where your hand naturally lands, and keep the whole switch bank together so it reads cleanly. Behind the panel, leave enough slack in the harness to pull the switch forward if you ever need to service a terminal.
