Because it's a single stud, we always tell folks to use the locking hardware, add a backing plate behind thin fiberglass or aluminum, and check the aim after the first few runs. A stud mount that isn't snugged down properly can walk out of alignment from the pounding a center console takes offshore. A dab of thread locker and a backing washer solve that for good.
