Hella 4 LED Cube Flood Light Kit | 3.2 in Set of 2

Hella built these little cube lights to do one job well, throw a wide, even wash of light right where you're working. Each housing packs 4 LEDs behind a clear lens in a 3.2 inch square black aluminum body. The beam is a flood pattern, so instead of a tight pencil of light reaching way out ahead, you get a broad spread that fills in the close and mid range. That's exactly what you want for a work area, a hitch, a trail edge, or the ground around a rig at night.

You get two of them in this kit, along with a complete wiring harness. And that harness is the part that saves you a Saturday. It comes with a Deutsch DT connector, a relay, an inline fuse, a switch, and a mounting bracket. So you're not sourcing parts from three different shelves to get these wired up right. Run power, ground the relay, drop the switch somewhere you can reach, and you're lit.

The flood beam is the thing to understand before you buy. Flood is wide and short. It's the pattern you want for lighting up a work zone, a bed, a deck, a campsite, or the area right around the vehicle. If you're trying to reach a couple hundred feet down a dark trail, a flood won't do that, that's a spot beam's job. A lot of folks run a mix, spots up high for distance and floods down low for the near field. These cubes are the near-field half of that setup.

At 12 watts each, the pair is easy on your electrical system. Two lights pull somewhere around 2 amps at 12 volts, so they slot onto a modest circuit without drama. The supplied relay and fuse handle the switching and protection, which keeps the load off your dash switch and gives you a clean shutoff if something shorts. We still like to run auxiliary lights off their own switched circuit so they can't quietly drain a battery when the key's off.

The housing is cast aluminum, finished in black. Aluminum sheds heat well, which matters for LED life, and the surface mount bracket lets you bolt these to a bumper, a bar, a tube, a fender, or a flat panel. Because the footprint is small, a 3.2 inch square, you can tuck them into spots a bigger light bar would never fit. Two on the rear for reverse and work light, two forward for the near field, up to you.

One more thing on the beam. The clear lens keeps the output crisp and white, which reads as daylight to your eyes and cuts down on the eye strain you get from cheaper amber-tinted work lights. On a long night of loading, hitching, or picking your way across a job site, that clean color makes a real difference in how much you can actually see.

A couple of install notes from wiring plenty of these. The Deutsch DT connector is weatherproof, but a dab of dielectric grease on the pins before you seat it is cheap insurance against corrosion down the road, especially if the rig sees rain, mud, or salt. Snug the mounting hardware against solid backing, and if you're bolting into thin sheet metal or a panel, add a backing washer so the screws don't work loose over time. Keep the switch somewhere dry and reachable.

Who's this for? Anybody adding auxiliary work or utility lighting to a truck, a UTV, a trailer, a tractor, or an off-road build who wants a finished kit instead of a box of loose parts. It's multivolt, so it plays nice with both 12 and 24 volt systems. And because Hella's been building lights a long time, the fit and finish is a step above the no-name cubes you'll find in a bin. Buy once, wire it in, forget about it.
