Garmin GPSMAP 9213xsv 13" Chartplotter Sonar Combo — Product description

The Garmin GPSMAP 9213xsv is a 13-inch 4K glass-helm chartplotter and sonar combo with built-in 1 kW xCHIRP sonar and preloaded Garmin Navionics+ charts. It's the flagship 9000-series platform, right-sized for helms that want premium charts included out of the box.

The Garmin GPSMAP 9213xsv puts the full flagship 9000-series experience on a 13-inch display and comes with premium Garmin Navionics+ charts preloaded. It's a 4K IPS sunlight-readable touchscreen with built-in sonar, and it's the same fast, capable platform as the big 17-inch unit in a footprint that fits more helms. If you want a serious chartplotter and sonar combo with the good charts already in it, this is the one to look at.

The display is a 4K IPS panel with a Mini LED backlight that does local dimming, so it holds deep blacks and stays readable in bright sun. Resolution is 3840 by 2160 on a 13.27-inch diagonal, so charts and sonar render sharp. And it's fast, with processing up to 7 times quicker than previous generations. Charts draw right away and Auto Guidance+ routes calculate quickly with a Navionics+ subscription. You feel that speed most when you're panning a busy chart at cruising speed.

The xsv means built-in sonar, and this carries Garmin's best. You get 1 kW xCHIRP with RapidReturn for excellent target separation, so fish show up crisp instead of blurred. It supports ClearVu and SideVu scanning and it's ready for Panoptix and LiveScope real-time sonar. The transducer is sold separately, so you pick the one that matches your water. The head unit is ready for all of it.

What sets this apart from the 9013xsv is the charts. This version comes preloaded with Garmin Navionics+ featuring Auto Guidance+ technology, so you're ready to navigate premium cartography right out of the box without adding a chart card first. It also supports Navionics Vision+ for premium relief shading and satellite imagery. Your position comes from a built-in dual-frequency 10 Hz GPS with multi-band, multi-constellation support across GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BEIDOU.

Like the rest of the family, it runs on Garmin BlueNet with gigabit speeds and two BlueNet ports, so you can build a real system: multiple chartplotters, cameras, radar, and sonar all talking fast. Control a compatible autopilot from any display on the network, tie in engine monitoring, connect cameras to see footage on screen, and integrate compatible radios. It handles AIS and DSC, supports ActiveCaptain for wireless updates and planning, takes spoken commands through a compatible headset or watch, and includes the full Sailassist suite for sailors with laylines, race start guidance, wind rose, and polar tables.

It's built for the water with IPX7 water resistance and marine-grade construction. At 13 inches you get flexible mounting, and it ships with a bail mount with knobs plus a flush mount kit, so you can bracket it or recess it into the helm. It weighs about 9.1 pounds and draws roughly 3.6 amps at 12 volts. In the box you get the chartplotter, power cable, a 2-meter NMEA 2000 backbone drop cable with T-connector, the bail mount, flush mount kit, protective cover, trim piece snap covers, and documentation.

There's a longevity angle here that's easy to miss at purchase time. Because it's built on the fast BlueNet backbone, you can start with just this display and grow the system over the seasons, adding a second screen at a second helm, a radar dome, cameras on the engines, and more sonar down the road. It's designed to be the hub you build a helm around for years, not a unit you outgrow next season, and that matters when you're spending real money on electronics.

Who's this for? Center consoles, cruisers, and sportfish that want a 13-inch flagship display with built-in sonar and the premium Navionics+ charts already loaded, plus room to network out radar and cameras as the boat grows. If you'd rather add your own charts and save up front, the 9013xsv with the Worldwide Basemap is the same unit without the preloaded premium cartography. And if your helm has the room for more screen, the 17-inch 9217xsv is the step up.
