Garmin Bike Mount for eTrex Touch, GPSMAP H1 & inReach Mini 3 — Product description

The Garmin Bike Mount snaps your handheld right onto the bars so you can navigate with your eyes up and your hands on the grips. It fits the eTrex Touch, GPSMAP H1 series, and inReach Mini 3 and Mini 3 Plus, ties on to any bar up to 1 inch, and ships with four cable ties. Simple, factory gear that just works.

The Garmin Bike Mount is the simple, no-drama way to put your Garmin handheld right where you can see it while you ride. It's the factory mount, part number 010-13351-02, and it's built to snap your device onto the bars and get you rolling. No brackets to bolt on, no tools to dig out of the garage. You cable-tie the base to your handlebar or stem, click the device in, and go.

This one is made for Garmin's handheld and satellite communicator line. It fits the eTrex Touch, the GPSMAP H1 series, and the inReach Mini 3 and Mini 3 Plus. If you already ride with one of those in your pack or your jersey pocket, this gets it up on the bars and into your line of sight where a map actually does you some good. One mount covers several devices, so if you upgrade your handheld down the road, odds are good the mount comes right along with you.

Here's the one catch worth knowing up front. If you're running an inReach Messenger or an inReach Messenger Plus, this mount alone won't hold it. Those two need the separate Cradle Mount accessory to seat properly. It's an easy add, but it's not in this box, so order it alongside if the Messenger is your device. For the Mini 3 and Mini 3 Plus, you're all set with what's included.

Installation is about as easy as it gets. The mount ships with four cable ties, and it fits any round bar up to 1 inch, which is 2.54 cm, in diameter. That covers the vast majority of road and mountain bike handlebars and plenty of stems too. Loop the ties through the base, cinch them down around the bar, trim the tails, and you've got a solid platform. Because it ties on rather than clamping with hardware, you can move it from one bike to another in a couple of minutes, or pull it off entirely when you don't need it.

Once the base is on, the device just snaps in. The seat holds the unit firmly so it won't rattle loose over rough pavement or a washboard fire road. And it keeps the unit up in your line of sight, so a quick glance is all it takes to check your track, your heading, or an incoming message. That's the whole point of getting the device off your body and onto the bars. You keep your eyes up and your hands on the grips.

So who's this really for? Anyone who rides with a Garmin handheld and wants it up where they can use it. Bikepackers navigating gravel and backroads who need the map in front of them, not buried in a bag. Hunters and hikers who pedal in to a trailhead and want a track log running the whole way. Adventure riders who lean on the inReach Mini for off-grid messaging and want it topside where the antenna has a clear view of the sky. It's a small, honest piece of gear that does one job and does it well, and at this price there's no reason to rig up something homemade with tape and hope.

A word of straight talk, since that's how we do it. This is a cycling accessory first and foremost. The plastic is made for bike-handlebar duty, not for permanent mounting out in the weather on a boat, where constant sun and salt will shorten the life of just about any plastic mount. If you want a Garmin display or communicator on the water, we'd point you toward gear built for the marine deck instead. But for two wheels and dry land, this mount is exactly right, and the price makes it an easy add to any Garmin handheld order.

You get the bike mount and the four cable ties. That's it, and that's all you need for the Mini 3, Mini 3 Plus, eTrex Touch, and GPSMAP H1. It's an inexpensive way to make a device you already own a lot more useful on the trail.

Frequently asked questions

Which Garmin devices does this bike mount fit?

It's made for the eTrex Touch, the GPSMAP H1 series, and the inReach Mini 3 and Mini 3 Plus. If you ride with one of those, this mount gets it up on the bars and in view.

Does it work with the inReach Messenger or Messenger Plus?

Not on its own. The Messenger and Messenger Plus need the separate Cradle Mount accessory to seat in this mount. It's an easy add, but it isn't included in the box, so order it alongside if that's your device.

What size handlebar does it fit?

Any round bar up to 1 inch (2.54 cm) in diameter. That covers most road and mountain bike handlebars, and plenty of stems too.

How does it attach to the bar?

With cable ties. Four are included. You loop them through the base, cinch down around the bar, and trim the tails. No tools and no bolt-on hardware.

What comes in the box?

The bike mount and four cable ties. That's everything you need to mount an eTrex Touch, GPSMAP H1, inReach Mini 3, or Mini 3 Plus. The Messenger models also need the separate Cradle Mount.

Can I move it between bikes?

Yes. Since it ties on instead of clamping with hardware, you can cut the old ties, move the base to another bike, and re-secure it with fresh ties in a couple of minutes. Keep a few spare cable ties on hand for that.

Is the device secure once it's snapped in?

It is. The device clicks into the seat and holds firmly, so it won't rattle loose over rough pavement or a washboard trail. Just make sure the cable ties are cinched down tight when you install the base.

Can I use this mount on a boat or kayak?

It's built as a cycling accessory for handlebars, not for permanent marine mounting. It'll physically tie onto a round rail, but constant sun and salt will wear out any plastic bike mount over time. For a Garmin unit on the water, you're better off with gear made for the marine deck.
