The Egis Mobile Electric CommonBus 6150-220 is a power distribution busbar built to consolidate your DC wiring into one clean, organized point. If you've ever opened an electrical panel and found a rat's nest of ring terminals stacked three deep on a single stud, this is the part that fixes it. It gives you two heavy 1/4-inch studs for your big feeds and twenty #8 screw terminals for everything else, all on one tin-plated copper strip.

Here's how it works on the boat. The two 1/4-inch studs are your high-amperage connections. That's where the main positive feed off the battery or a main breaker lands, or where you tie in a bigger load like a windlass or an inverter run. The twenty #8 screw terminals handle the smaller stuff, your nav lights, your bilge pump, electronics, the dozen little accessory wires that all need to share a common point. Rated at 150 amps and 48 volts DC, it's happy running a 12V or 24V system with plenty of headroom for a mid-size boat's house distribution.

The whole bus is tin-plated copper, and that matters out on the water. Bare copper corrodes, and corrosion is resistance, and resistance is heat and voltage drop right where you can least afford it. The tin plating slows that down and keeps the connections tight and conductive through years of salt air. Egis uses stainless steel self-locking hardware on the studs, so the nuts don't back off with engine vibration and trailer chatter. You torque them once and they stay put.

It's a flat strip design with a compact 9.12 inch by 1-1/4 inch footprint, so it tucks into tight spots. Behind the helm, inside a battery box, up under the console, anywhere you need to gather grounds or split a positive feed without eating up real estate. A lot of boats end up running two of these, one for the negative bus and one for the positive. Mount it flat against a bulkhead or a distribution panel and it more or less disappears into the install.

One thing to be clear about. This is a distribution busbar, not a fuse block. It ties conductors together and spreads current, but it doesn't protect any circuit on its own. You'll still want proper fusing or breakers upstream and on your branch circuits, sized to your wire. And this model ships without an insulated cover, so if it's mounted anywhere a dropped tool or a stray strand could bridge the terminals, plan to shield it or set it inside a protected enclosure.
