Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with 12V wiring, but a few things save you a callback. Confirm your fan and mode leads before you power up. Factory harnesses don't always land the colors where you expect, so check the orange and white fan wires against the wiring diagram first. Keep your 12V supply healthy too. The board wants stable voltage, and if your house bank sags down near 11.5 volts under load, the display can act up. If you're running heat pump mode, make sure the reversing valve is switched through its own relay rather than pulled straight off the board. That keeps the control board cool and happy over the long haul.

One more thing worth planning for. The control board pigtail is on the short side for a long console or cabinet run, so budget a little 18 AWG marine-grade wire to extend it cleanly rather than stretching the factory leads. And because these live in cabins and coaches that see humidity swings, a lot of installers give the board a light conformal coat before buttoning things up. It's cheap insurance against condensation on the touch circuit after a few seasons.
