Dometic 9200 Power Awning Standard Hardware Set, Polar White LED — Product description

This is the full arm hardware set for the Dometic 9200 power patio awning, in Polar White with the integrated LED strip. You get both extension arms, the drive motor, the idler connector, the wire harness, and end caps. It's the Standard style that fits most straight-sided coaches running 925, 926, or 927 series awning tubes. Everything but the fabric and roller.

If your Dometic 9200 power awning has quit extending, sags on one side, or the arms got tweaked by a gust you didn't see coming, this is the set that puts it right. It's the complete Standard hardware kit in Polar White, and it's what actually does the work on a power patio awning. Both extension arms, the drive motor, the idler connector on the opposite side, the wire harness that runs through the arm, and the end caps. The fabric and the roller tube aren't part of this kit, so if your vinyl is still good you can reuse it.

Here's the thing most folks don't realize until they're standing under a dead awning at the campsite. The arms do more than hold the fabric out. They carry the motor, they set the pitch, and the gas struts inside them are what push the awning open and keep tension on it so it doesn't flap at highway speed or in an afternoon breeze. When one arm goes, the whole thing stops working right. Replacing the hardware as a matched left-and-right set is the clean fix. You're not pairing a tired arm with a fresh one and chasing an uneven extension for the next three seasons.

This is the Standard style, which is the most common arm you'll find on coaches wearing a Dometic 9200. It's built for straight-sided rigs, so if your motorhome or travel trailer has a flat sidewall where the awning mounts, this is your hardware. It fits the 925, 926, and 927 series awning tubes. If you're not sure which tube you have, the model tag is usually printed on the roller end cap or listed in your coach's component manual under the awning section.

The LED lighting is integrated into this set, so when you wire it back up you get the same soft strip lighting along the arm that makes an evening at the site a lot more livable. Power operation means it's all done from the wall switch. No hand crank, no ladder, no wrestling a spring-loaded roller. Extend it when you park, pull it in before you roll, and adjust the pitch when you want rain to run off instead of pooling in the middle.

A few real numbers so you can check fitment before you order. The front channel measures 64-7/8 inches and the back channel is 65-5/8 inches. The lower pivot sits at 30-5/16 inches, and with the awning extended the projection is 91-1/2 inches out from the wall. The extension pitch drop is 13-1/4 inches, which is the standard geometry for the 9200 Standard arm. If those measurements line up with what's on your rig now, you've got the right kit.

Installation is a job most handy RV owners can tackle in an afternoon with a helper, though it's not a solo project. The arms are long, the motor arm has some weight to it, and you want a second set of hands when you're lining up the roller and snugging the mounting rail. Take pictures of your wiring before you disconnect anything. The harness runs up through the right arm to the motor, and the polarity matters for extend and retract. If you'd rather have a shop handle it, any RV service center that works on Dometic awnings will know this hardware cold.

One honest note. If your fabric is brittle, faded, or pulling away from the roller, plan to replace the fabric too while you've got the awning apart. It's a lot easier to do both at once than to pull a good new arm set back off in a year to swap tired vinyl. This kit gets your mechanicals and your lighting back to new. The fabric is a separate call.

We stock genuine Dometic hardware, not a look-alike, so the fit, the motor, and the LED all match what the coach builder put on originally. That's the difference between a repair that disappears and one you're fussing with every trip. If you tell us your coach and the awning length, we'll make sure the Standard set is the right one for your rig before it ships.

Frequently asked questions

What comes in this hardware set?

You get the left and right extension arms, the drive motor, the idler connector, the wire harness that runs through the arm, and the left and right end caps. It's the full mechanical and lighting side of the awning.

Does it include the awning fabric and roller tube?

No. This is the arm hardware only. The fabric and the roller tube aren't part of the kit, so if your vinyl is still in good shape you can reuse it. If it's brittle or faded, plan to replace the fabric at the same time.

Which awnings does this fit?

It fits Dometic 9200 power patio awnings running the 925, 926, or 927 series roller tubes on straight-sided coaches. Check the model tag on your roller end cap or your coach's awning manual if you're not sure which tube you have.

Is this for straight-sided coaches only?

Yes. This is the Standard style built for rigs with a flat sidewall where the awning mounts. That covers most motorhomes and travel trailers wearing a 9200 awning.

What color is it?

Polar White. It matches the factory trim on most 9200-equipped coaches.

Does it have LED lighting?

Yes. The LED strip lighting is integrated into this set. Wire it back up during the install and you get the same soft arm lighting for the campsite.

How far does the awning extend?

With the awning open, the projection is 91-1/2 inches out from the sidewall. The front channel is 64-7/8 inches and the back channel is 65-5/8 inches, so you can check those against your current arms before ordering.

Can I adjust the pitch for rain?

Yes. The arms let you drop one side to set a pitch so rain runs off instead of pooling in the middle of the fabric. The extension pitch drop is 13-1/4 inches.

Is this a power awning or a manual one?

Power. It runs off the wall switch through the drive motor in the right arm. No hand crank, no ladder, no spring-loaded roller to fight.

Can I install this myself?

Most handy RV owners can do it in an afternoon with a helper. The arms are long and the motor arm has some weight, so it's not a solo job. Photograph your wiring before you disconnect anything, since the harness polarity sets extend and retract. Any RV shop that services Dometic awnings can handle it too.
