If you just picked up a motorhome and you're staring at a list of things you apparently need before the first trip, this kit takes care of most of it. The Camco RV Starter Kit Level VI bundles the gear that every RVer ends up buying anyway, so you're not making three trips to the parts counter the week before you leave. It's built for motorhomes and covers the two jobs you'll do at every campsite: hooking up fresh water and dumping the tanks.

Start with the water side. There's a TastePURE 25-foot drinking water hose, which is safe for potable water and long enough to reach most campground spigots without stretching. Paired with it is a plastic water pressure regulator. That regulator matters more than people think. Campground water pressure swings all over the place, and a spike can blow a fitting or a line inside your coach. Screw the regulator on at the spigot and you've capped the pressure to something your plumbing can live with.

Then the part nobody loves but everybody has to do. The kit includes a 20-foot standard sewer hose, an RV straight hose adapter, and a stainless steel hose clamp to lock the connection down. Twenty feet gives you room to reach the dump inlet even when the site puts it in an awkward spot. You also get a 100-count box of disposable dump gloves, because this is a hands-off-the-mess kind of chore, and a fresh pair every time keeps it that way.

For the tanks themselves, there are three TST Orange Drop-Ins. Drop one in the black tank and it goes to work on odor and helps break down waste and tissue so the tank empties clean. Speaking of tissue, you get a 4-pack of 1-ply RV toilet tissue. It's made to dissolve quickly so it doesn't pack up in the tank or clog the sensors. Regular household paper is one of the fastest ways to gum up an RV black tank, so having the right stuff from day one saves you a headache.

On the power side, the kit throws in a 15-amp male to 30-amp female Power Grip adapter. That's the piece that lets you plug your 30-amp RV cord into a standard household-style 15-amp outlet when that's all a site or your driveway offers. The Power Grip housing has molded handles, so you're pulling on the plug body instead of yanking the cord. It won't give you full 30-amp draw off a 15-amp circuit, but it keeps the lights and the basics running when you don't have a proper RV pedestal.

Rounding it out are two standard bubble levels. Stick them on the coach, and when you pull into a site you can see at a glance whether you need to add a board or two under the tires to sit level. A level rig means the fridge runs right and you're not rolling toward one side of the bed all night.

Who's this for? Mostly first-time motorhome owners and anyone setting up a second rig who doesn't want to hunt down each piece separately. It's a solid baseline. If you camp hard and often, you'll probably upgrade the sewer hose to a heavier model down the road, but for getting on the road now with everything you actually need, it's tough to beat a single box.

One thing worth knowing up front. This is the motorhome-specific Level VI configuration, so the contents are tuned for a coach rather than a towable. The included levels are the standard stick-on type, and the sewer hose is the standard grade rather than the reinforced accordion style. For a first season of camping, that's plenty. Keep the container, refill the tissue and gloves as you go, and you've got a tidy little kit that lives in your storage bay year-round.
