Camco 42452 RV Gutter Spout Extensions, Black 4-Pack

Black streaks down the side of your RV drive everybody crazy. They show up after a good rain, and they come from the same place every time. Water sheets off the roof, picks up dirt and a little chalky oxidation from the roof edge, and then runs straight down the sidewall. Camco's 42452 gutter spouts give that water somewhere else to go. They kick the runoff out past the wall so it drips clear instead of staining the fiberglass or aluminum.

Here's how they work. Your coach has a drip rail running along the roof edge. On most RVs there are short OEM spouts spaced along that rail, and those little spouts are what actually push the water away from the body. Over a few seasons in the sun they get brittle, crack, or fall off entirely. Once they're gone, the rain has no place to break away from the wall, so it hugs the side and leaves those long gray streaks. These Camco spouts drop right into the drip rail and put the extensions back where they belong.

Each one measures 3 inches long with a 1 5/16-inch inside diameter, and the set gives you four spouts, two left and two right. That left-and-right pairing matters. The corners of your roofline shed water in opposite directions, so you want the spout angled the right way at each corner to carry the drip out and away rather than back toward the wall. Two of each covers the front and rear corners on a typical trailer or motorhome.

They're a one-piece design, so there's no separate extension to snap on and lose down the road. The spout and the extension are molded together. Camco makes them from a sun-resilient resin, which is the part that really counts up on a roof edge that bakes in UV all day. Cheap plastic goes chalky and snaps. This resin is built to ride out the sun for years, which is exactly why the OEM parts you're replacing gave out in the first place.

You've got two situations where these earn their keep. The first is straightforward replacement. If your existing spouts are worn, faded, or missing, pull what's left and press these into the same drip rail. The second is a coach that never had spouts to begin with. Plenty of RVs ship with a bare drip rail and no extensions at all, and those are the ones that streak the worst. You can add these spouts to that rail and finally get the water breaking away from the body.

Install is about as easy as RV projects get. No tools, no drilling, and no sealant in most cases. You seat the spout into the drip rail channel and it stays put. Space them out along the rail wherever the water tends to run, usually near the corners and over any spot that streaks badly. It's a ten-minute job that you'll be glad you did the next time it pours.

A few honest expectations. These won't make your RV self-cleaning. You'll still want to wash the coach and treat the roof now and then. What they do is cut way down on the streaking between washes, which for most owners is the whole battle. They also won't rebuild a drip rail that's damaged, since the rail itself isn't included here. If your drip rail is solid and you just need the spouts back, this is the fix.

The packaging is labeled in English and French, and the spouts are made in the USA under a patented design. At four to a pack, you've usually got enough to hit the trouble corners on a single coach with a couple left over as spares. For under ten bucks, it's cheap insurance against a chore nobody enjoys, scrubbing gray streaks off the side of the rig.
