If you've ever sat on a boat seat that wobbles, spins loose, or won't hold its angle, the mount underneath it is usually the culprit. The Attwood 1002-S is that mount done right. It's the swivel base that bolts to the bottom of your seat and drops onto a 3/4-inch pedestal post, letting the whole seat turn a full 360 degrees. Fishing off the stern one minute, facing the helm the next, you just spin and go.

This is the without-spring version, and that matters. A spring-loaded swivel wants to pull the seat back to a forward-facing position on its own. It accepts any standard 3/4-inch diameter post, so it works with most pedestal systems already out there. There's a built-in 3-degree tilt, a small recline angle that takes the edge off sitting straight up for hours. You won't really notice it looking at the part, but your back notices it after a long day on the water.

The rotation itself is smooth and continuous. There's no ratchet or set of detents to click through, so you get infinite positioning around the full circle. That's handy when you want to face a direction that isn't dead ahead or straight back, say quartering toward a rod holder or angling to keep an eye on a downrigger. And because it turns freely, you can swing around to talk to the crew behind you without having to get up and reset your footing.

This is a great fit for aluminum fishing boats, jon boats, bass boats, pontoons, and just about any small-to-midsize boat running pedestal seating. If you're replacing a swivel that's rusted out or gone sloppy, or building up a new seat, this is a clean, no-drama part to reach for. Install is simple. Bolt the base to the underside of your seat through the four holes, then set the assembly onto your existing 3/4-inch post. Most folks have it done in a few minutes with basic hand tools.
