The Actisense A2K-MPT-2 is the power T-piece that gets 12V onto your NMEA 2000 backbone the right way. Two female micro connectors, a 3-meter UL-certified drop, and Actisense's own precision-made ends. If you're building or expanding a network, this is where the power goes in.

Every NMEA 2000 network needs power fed onto the backbone somewhere, and the Actisense A2K-MPT-2 is the piece that does exactly that. It drops into your backbone like any other tee, but instead of feeding a single sensor it feeds the whole bus. You get two female micro connectors and a 3-meter power cable that runs off to your 12V source. Simple, safe, and the way a network is meant to be powered.

The idea behind a power T is straightforward. Your backbone carries both data and power to every device hanging off it, and that power has to come from somewhere. The A2K-MPT-2 gives you a clean injection point. The two female micro (M12) connectors let it sit inline on the backbone with standard cable on either side, so it's genuinely plug and play. No cutting, no crimping on the network side. The Actisense-designed connectors are shaped for easy, secure mating, and because both ends are female, this power T is fully DeviceNet compatible too.

If you're new to NMEA 2000, here's the short version of why this matters. The network is a single backbone cable with a device tapped in at each tee, all of them sharing one power and data bus. Feed that bus from a good 12V source through a part like this, and every instrument on the boat talks to every other one over a single pair of wires. The cable itself is UL certified, which isn't just a nice-to-have. On charter, commercial, and surveyed vessels, UL-certified wiring is often exactly what the inspector wants to see.

On the electrical side it's rated at 4A per feed and 60VDC, which is more than enough headroom to power a typical NMEA 2000 backbone full of displays, sensors, and gateways. The cable uses 18 AWG tinned wires with a 34-strand tinned copper drain and an aluminum-mylar shield, so your data lines stay quiet even with the alternator charging hard. Operating range runs from -20 to +70 degrees C, so it's happy whether you're running the Gulf in July or a cold morning up north.

One thing to be clear about. This is the power injection point for your network, not a drop cable for a single device and not a terminator. You'll still want backbone cable between devices, a tee at each instrument, and a terminating resistor at each end of the run.
