Simrad GO9 XSE Combo + Active Imaging 3-in-1 + C-MAP Discover — Product description

The Simrad GO9 XSE is the 9-inch touchscreen chartplotter and fishfinder combo built for sportboats, dayboats, and center consoles. Ships with the Active Imaging 3-in-1 transom transducer for CHIRP, SideScan, and DownScan, plus a preloaded C-MAP Discover chart. Built-in WiFi, NMEA 2000, radar-ready for HALO and 3G/4G domes. Touch-and-go simple, with the Simrad networking expandability you need as the boat grows.

The Simrad GO9 XSE is the 9-inch all-in-one chartplotter and fishfinder combo for boaters who want serious capability without going to a full glass-bridge build. Touchscreen interface with the simple, intuitive Simrad menu system, Active Imaging 3-in-1 transducer in the box, C-MAP Discover charts preloaded, and the network expandability to grow into HALO radar, autopilot, and digital switching as the boat develops. For sportboats, dayboats, smaller cruisers, and center consoles up to about 24 feet, the GO9 XSE is the right size and capability.

What you actually get from this kit. The 9-inch widescreen LED-backlit display with multi-touch IPX6/IPX7 sealing, the Active Imaging 3-in-1 transom transducer that delivers CHIRP sonar plus SideScan and DownScan imaging from a single mount, and the C-MAP Discover chart card that covers your local waters with full-featured vector charts, custom depth shading, high-resolution bathymetry, easy-routing, and tide and current data. Add a transom mount install, run the cables, and you're fishing.

The Active Imaging 3-in-1 transducer is the right transducer for most sportboat and bay boat use. CHIRP sonar gives you traditional 2D fish-arch and bottom imagery, SideScan throws photo-quality returns out to either side of the boat for finding structure on a search pass, and DownScan gives you the photo-quality straight-down view of what's directly under the boat. Three sonar views from a single transducer, no separate transom transducers required for each function. FishReveal Smart Target View overlays CHIRP fish marks onto the DownScan structure image so you stop guessing which arches matter.

The C-MAP Discover chart preloaded on the included card is the right entry-level Simrad chart for local cruising and fishing. Full-featured vector charts with depth shading customizable to your preferred color scheme, easy-routing for automatic safe-path generation between waypoints, and the tide and current overlays that matter for inshore navigation. Upgrade to C-MAP Reveal for premium bathymetric and aerial overlay if you fish a region where Reveal has detailed coverage.

Touchscreen control is the GO line's interface philosophy. Pinch to zoom, drag to pan, tap to select. The Simrad UI is intentionally simpler than the higher-end NSS evo3S system, which is the right choice for boaters who don't want to learn a deep menu hierarchy. For owners who do want more advanced control, the GO9 also accepts the optional OP40 / OP50 wireless remote for off-screen control.

Networking. NMEA 2000 backbone for engine, autopilot, and accessory data. The GO9's NMEA 2000 implementation supports CZone digital switching for vessel circuit control directly from the chartplotter, Mercury Smart Tow for wake-shaping with compatible engines, ITC Lighting Bar control, and Honda ECO mode engine information. Built-in WiFi for software updates over any internet hotspot and screen mirroring to compatible mobile devices via the Simrad app. The dual microSD card slot lets you keep the C-MAP chart loaded plus a second card for software updates or chart upgrades.

Radar. The GO9 has a dedicated radar port for direct connection to Simrad 3G or 4G Broadband radar domes, or HALO Pulse Compression radar (the modern solid-state pairing). Radar shows up as an overlay on chart or in a dedicated panel. For boats running offshore, in fog, or in busy harbors after dark, the GO9 + HALO 20 radome is one of the most affordable solid-state radar combinations on the market.

SteadySteer is the autopilot performance enhancement available when the GO9 is paired with NAC-2 or NAC-3 autopilot computers running RPU drive pumps. SteadySteer reduces autopilot response lag and improves heading hold accuracy in chop. For boats running serious autopilot integration, the GO9 supports it without requiring a step up to the NSS evo3S line.

Built-in 10 Hz GPS antenna handles standard navigation positioning. ForwardScan support is in the unit (transducer sold separately), which gives you a forward-looking sonar view ahead of the boat for shallow water navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The 9.56 inch wide by 6.71 inch tall by 3.26 inch deep form factor is sized for typical helm dashes on sportboats and center consoles. Both flush-mount and bracket-mount kits are typically included for the GO line (verify with shipped contents). The unit weighs about 13 pounds shipped.

What this unit isn't. It is not the high-end NSS evo3S glass-bridge MFD. It does not have Ethernet networking for shared sonar between multiple displays. It does not support StructureScan 3D or the high-end ActiveTarget live sonar (which requires more processing power than the GO platform delivers). For most sportboat and center console use, the GO9 XSE is enough chartplotter and fishfinder. For serious offshore tournament work, the NSS evo3S line is the right step up.

What's in the box. The GO9 XSE display, the Active Imaging 3-in-1 transom transducer, the C-MAP Discover chart card preloaded, the mounting bracket and hardware, the power and NMEA 2000 cabling kit, sun cover, and the install instructions.

2-year limited Simrad warranty. Same-day shipping before 3 PM ET on in-stock units.

Frequently asked questions

What's actually in the box?

The GO9 XSE display, the Active Imaging 3-in-1 transom transducer, the C-MAP Discover chart card preloaded, the mounting bracket and hardware, the power and NMEA 2000 cabling kit, the sun cover, and the install instructions. This is a complete kit ready to install on the boat.

What's the difference between the GO9 XSE and the NSS evo3S?

The NSS evo3S is the higher-end glass-bridge MFD line with Ethernet networking, more processing power, support for ActiveTarget live sonar, support for StructureScan 3D, and SolarMAX IPS displays. The GO9 XSE (this unit) is the GO line, which is the simpler touch-and-go combo for sportboats and center consoles. Both share the Simrad UI philosophy but the NSS line has meaningfully more capability for boats that need it. For typical recreational and inshore fishing use, the GO9 XSE is enough chartplotter and saves significant money over the NSS line.

What does the Active Imaging 3-in-1 transducer give me?

Three sonar views from a single transom-mount transducer: CHIRP sonar for traditional 2D fish-arch imagery, SideScan for photo-quality bottom imagery out to either side of the boat, and DownScan for high-detail straight-down imagery. Plus FishReveal that overlays CHIRP fish marks onto the DownScan structure view so you can identify which arches correspond to which structure features. One transducer install instead of three separate ones.

What charts come preloaded?

C-MAP Discover, which is the entry-level Simrad chart card. Full-featured vector charts with depth shading, easy-routing for automatic safe-path generation, tide and current data, and high-resolution bathymetry. Coverage matches what you'd buy on a Discover card from a dealer. You can supplement with C-MAP Reveal for premium bathymetric and aerial imagery overlay if you fish a region with detailed Reveal coverage.

Can I add radar?

Yes. The GO9 has a dedicated radar port for direct connection to Simrad 3G or 4G Broadband radomes (older but still capable) or HALO Pulse Compression radar (the modern solid-state pairing). HALO 20 paired with the GO9 is one of the most affordable solid-state radar combinations available, and it's particularly useful for boats venturing offshore, fishing in fog, or running in busy harbors after dark.

Does it support autopilot?

Yes, with limitations. The GO9 supports SteadySteer autopilot enhancement when paired with NAC-2 or NAC-3 autopilot computers fitted with RPU drive pumps. For higher-end Simrad autopilot configurations, the NSS evo3S MFD is a better fit. For typical sportboat or center console autopilot use with NAC autopilot computers, the GO9's SteadySteer is genuinely useful and a meaningful upgrade.

What about engine integration?

NMEA 2000 connection to compatible engines lets you display engine data directly on the chartplotter (RPM, fuel, hours, fluid levels, trim). Specifically supports Mercury Smart Tow for wake-shaping and Honda ECO mode information. Other NMEA 2000-compatible engines display their available data through standard NMEA 2000 PGNs.

Can I control digital switching from the screen?

Yes. The GO9 supports CZone digital switching control directly from the touchscreen, plus ITC Lighting Bar control for boat lighting effects. Add a CZone-compatible switching system to your boat and the GO9 becomes the control surface for boat circuits, lighting, pumps, and other digitally-switched devices.

How does WiFi work?

Built-in WiFi handles software updates over any internet hotspot and screen mirroring to compatible mobile devices via the Simrad app. You can view the chartplotter from your phone or tablet anywhere on the boat. The WiFi is for the chartplotter's external connectivity, not for display-to-display sharing (which would require Ethernet, not available on the GO line).

Does it work with the OP40 / OP50 remote?

Yes. The GO9 accepts the optional OP40 or OP50 wireless remote for off-screen control. Useful for boaters who want a hardware remote in addition to the touchscreen, or for installs where you can't reach the screen comfortably from the helm seat.

Where on the boat should I mount it?

On the helm dash with either the included gimbal bracket (for surface mount) or with a flush mount kit if you want a clean dash-flush install. The 9.56" wide by 6.71" tall footprint fits typical sportboat and center console helm spaces. The included sun cover protects the screen when not in use.

What's the warranty?

2-year limited Simrad warranty. Service runs through the Simrad authorized dealer network in the U.S.
