The Lowrance TMR-1 is the wireless handheld remote for the Lowrance Ghost trolling motor - the Ghost-specific accessory that lets you control the trolling motor from anywhere on the boat without using the foot pedal. For boats running the Ghost, the TMR-1 is the practical addition that makes hands-free trolling motor control possible from positions away from the bow casting deck (the angler at the rear platform fighting a fish, the captain at the helm wanting to reposition without walking forward, the second angler at the mid-deck casting position).

Why a wireless remote matters for trolling motor control. The Ghost (like other GPS-equipped bow-mount trolling motors) is primarily controlled via foot pedal at the bow casting deck. Battery life is typically a full fishing season under normal use. Pairing procedure. Power up the Ghost trolling motor. Power up the TMR-1 (press any button to wake it). The two units automatically discover each other and pair within a few seconds. After the initial pairing, the TMR-1 and Ghost stay paired across power cycles.
