Chesapeake White SS 2" Fuel Level Gauge - Metric (E-1/2-F)
Perimeter-lighted White dial with stylish Blue and White graphics, polished stainless steel bezel, contoured White pointer and domed glass lens.
Fuel Level gauge operates by sending a low amperage current through the gauge's meter to ground via a sending unit with variable resistance. The resistance of the sending units increase or decrease with the changes in pressure, temperature, etc...
As the sender's resistance varies, the amount of current allowed to flow through it to ground changes and the meter deflects, showing the level of fuel.

The working principle of the fuel level gauge is to send a low ampere current to the ground through the meter of the level gauge through the sending device of the variable resistance. The resistance of the sending unit increases or decreases with changes in pressure, temperature, etc. As the resistance of the transmitter changes, the amount of current allowed to flow through the transmitter to the ground also changes, and the meter will deflect to show the fuel level.
