Balmar XT-Series Alternators Designed for Recreational Applications XT-Series Alternators from Balmar bring together the latest innovations in alternator design to deliver incredible charging power in a compact, Marine-friendly package. The XT-Series Alternator family features a state-of-the-art, braided stator wire design to generate exceptional output in the smallest possible area. The XT-Series produces slightly more power than our previous AT-Series 165A design and operates 5-10 degrees C cooler.In addition, we've added Balmar's Smart Ready internal regulator technology to provide an additional level of fault tolerance for cruising boaters.Available XT-Series mounting styles have also expanded to include the "Vortec" 9Si design found on many GM gasoline engines. XT-Series Alternators may require a Tachometer Signal Stabilizer (Part No. 15-TSS) if your current tach is not adjustable.XT-Series Alternators should only be used in Dual Vee or Multi-Groove Serpentine belt configurations. Balmar's growing range of AltMount Serpentine Pulley Conversion Kits support all XT-Series Alternators.

This new 170 Amp two-foot mounted XT alternator is equipped with K6 pulleys for 6-slot serpentine belts. This is an output alternator with a much higher power than can usually be accommodated in a small enclosure. The innovation that makes this possible is the new braided stator design, which greatly improves efficiency. The new XT series alternator also includes a backup internal regulator for emergency situations. For installation details, please refer to the dimensional drawing. The alternator is slightly shorter than the standard small alternator, but is designed to be used in the same location. These alternators all require a serpentine belt or double V-belt, and for full power output, the MC614-H regulator (not included) is needed because it can provide the more needed to drive them to full power. High excitation current. Externally regulated high-output small alternator 12 volt output, 170 amps, 3.15" ID Yanmar type installation on both feet. This is not an isolated ground alternator for 6-slot serpentine belt K6 pulley built-in backup regulator data sheet, The size and output curve require a maximum charge regulator, but are not included.
