Raymarine HS5 SeaTalkhs Network Switch Product Description

HS-5 Network Switch (RayNet)

Expand your marine electronics setup with the Raymarine HS5 SeaTalkhs Network Switch, the reliable hub that keeps your boat's displays, radars, and sensors talking seamlessly. Whether you're upgrading a multifunction display array on your yacht or building out a comprehensive navigation system on a fishing vessel, this compact switch ensures high-speed data flows effortlessly across compatible Raymarine gear.

Imagine sharing detailed cartography between screens, streaming real-time digital radar overlays, or distributing sonar readings without lag— that's the power of SeaTalkhs networking. Designed for real-world boating demands, the HS5 handles it all while shrugging off saltwater spray and rough seas.

Key Advantages for Seamless Marine Networking

The HS5 stands out by blending rugged durability with smart performance. Its five watertight RayNet ports let you link up to five devices—like c-Series or e-Series multifunction displays, radar scanners, thermal cameras, or sonar modules—directly. Each port delivers solid 10/100 Mbps speeds for everyday tasks, keeping your helm responsive even in choppy conditions.

  • Versatile Power Handling: Runs smoothly on 9-32V DC systems, drawing just 0.6A, perfect for 12V or 24V boats without straining batteries.
  • IPX6 Waterproof Rating: Built to endure heavy rain, waves, and splashes, so you can mount it confidently in exposed console spots.
  • Gigabit Boost for Expansion: The fifth port kicks into Gigabit mode automatically when linking multiple HS5 switches, maintaining full bandwidth on expansive networks without bottlenecks.

Why Boaters Trust the HS5 for High-Performance Setups

For larger vessels needing more than one switch, the HS5 shines with its dedicated high-speed daisy-chain port. Connect two HS5 units via Gigabit, and watch data zip between them—ideal for multi-station bridges or tournament rigs with radar domes, fishfinders, and chartplotters all online simultaneously.

Installation is a breeze: large keyhole slots make wall-mounting straightforward, and front-facing LEDs give instant feedback on power and network status. No IT degree required—just plug in RayNet cables, power up, and your SeaTalkhs network comes alive. Skip the headaches of generic Ethernet switches; this one's optimized for marine harshness, ensuring rock-solid connections season after season.

Practical Tips for Integrating the HS5 into Your System

Start by mapping your devices: prioritize high-data users like digital radars or HD sonar on ports closest to the switch for minimal cable runs. In multi-switch setups, always use the Gigabit port for inter-switch links to preserve speed. For best results, keep cable lengths under 100 meters and away from high-power sources to dodge interference.

Owners report fewer dropouts compared to older NMEA 2000 hubs, thanks to the Ethernet backbone. Pair it with Raymarine's latest accessories, and you'll unlock shared screen features that make night watches safer and fishing runs more productive.

HS5 SeaTalkhs Network Switch

The HS5 SeaTalkhs Network Switch works with Raymarine's latest c-Series and e-Series Multifunction Displays and accessories and serves as the central connection point for the SeaTalk High Speed Network.

The HS5 uses the new Raynet waterproof connection system found on c-Series and e-Series displays, and provides a secure, reliable weather tight connection. Up to 5 displays or other peripherals can be connected directly to the HS5 network switch. The 5 ports all support 10 or 100 Megabit speeds when connected to peripherals like displays, scanners, sounder modules or thermal cameras. The 5th port also supports Gigabit speed for interconnecting multiple HS5 switches together on very large networks.

The compact HS5 works on both 12V and 24V dc power systems, and is simple to install with large keyhole mounting slots and front-facing status indicators.

"SeaTalk data is quickly distributed to other SeaTalk equipment using the HS5 switch. Information shared using the SeaTalk network includes shared cartography (between compatible displays), digital radar data and sonar data. Key Features: 12V or 24V DC 5 port - Watertight RayNet connection 10Mbit\/sec, 100Mbit\/sec and 1000 Mbit\/sec (5th port only) supported network speeds. Gigabit 5th port allows higher speed across switches should a 2nd switch be necessary. Multiple Switches - Systems with more than 5 SeaTalkhs devices require more than one network switch. Network switches can be connected together (\"daisy-chaining\") for this purpose. The network switch provides a dedicated high-speed (1000 Mbit\/S) port for connecting switches together while still retaining full data bandwidth throughout the system. Each switch only has one high-speed port (port 5), so you can only connect up to 2 switches using the high-speed (1000 Mbit\/S) connection. Any additional network switches must be connected together using a standard speed (100 Mbit\/S) port. Note: The maximum number of SeaTalkhs devices that can be connected in any single system is 25."
