HS5 SeaTalk^hs Network Switch

The HS5 SeaTalk^hs Network Switch works with Raymarine's latest c-Series and e-Series Multifunction Displays and accessories and serves as the central connection point for the SeaTalk High Speed Network.

The HS5 uses the new Raynet waterproof connection system found on c-Series and e-Series displays, and provides a secure, reliable weather tight connection. Up to 5 displays or other peripherals can be connected directly to the HS5 network switch. The 5 ports all support 10 or 100 Megabit speeds when connected to peripherals like displays, scanners, sounder modules or thermal cameras. The 5th port also supports Gigabit speed for interconnecting multiple HS5 switches together on very large networks.

The compact HS5 works on both 12V and 24V dc power systems, and is simple to install with large keyhole mounting slots and front-facing status indicators.

Using the HS5 switch, SeaTalk data can be quickly distributed to other SeaTalk devices. Information shared using SeaTalk networks includes shared graphics (between compatible displays), digital radar data, and sonar data. Main function: 12V or 24V DC 5 ports-Waterproof RayNet connection supports network speeds of 10Mbit/sec, 100Mbit/sec and 1000 Mbit/sec (5th port only). If a second switch is needed, the fifth gigabit port allows higher speeds across switches. Multiple switches-systems with more than 5 SeaTalkhs devices require more than one network switch. For this purpose, network switches can be connected together ("daisy chain"). The network switch provides a dedicated high-speed (1000 Mbit/S) port for connecting the switches together while still retaining the complete data bandwidth of the entire system. Each switch has only one high-speed port (port 5), so a maximum of 2 switches can be connected using a high-speed (1000 Mbit/S) connection. All other network switches must be connected together using standard speed (100 Mbit/S) ports. Note: In any single system, up to 25 SeaTalkhs devices can be connected.
