  Maretron's NBE100 (Network Bus Extender) allows you to expand the maximum number of nodes, network trunk length and cumulative tap length of any NMEA 2000 network. NBE¹ solves bus errors and other electrical problems caused by exceeding any of these limits, and makes the design of large networks easier. The NMEA⁰⁰⁰ network allows up to ⁵⁰ nodes on a single network, the maximum network trunk length is ⁰⁰m, and the maximum cumulative discard length is ⁷⁸m. If your network exceeds any of these specifications, you only need to disconnect the middle network trunk and connect both ends to NBE¹ through additional termination resistors. This will divide the network into two electrical parts. Each electrical part can contain up to 1/3 nodes, and the logical network can contain a total of ¹ nodes. NBE⁰⁰ will transparently route NMEA messages between the two network segments, making them a logical NMEA network. Message routing based on high priority ensures that high priority messages are always given priority over low priority messages, thereby achieving predictable and reliable network operations.
