Simrad GO9 XSE Combo - 9" Touchscreen Chartplotter w/Transducer

The Simrad GO9 XSE Combo is the 9-inch multi-touch chartplotter / fishfinder kit that pairs the GO9 XSE control head with the 9-pin High-Speed Skimmer transom mount transducer for a complete out-of-the-box marine electronics package. Simrad targets the GO XSE line at recreational and prosumer powerboaters who want serious chartplotter capability with the touchscreen interface that's now standard across the consumer marine market. 9-inch multi-touch touchscreen. The display is 9 inches diagonal with full multi-touch capability - tap to select waypoints, pinch to zoom charts, tap-and-drag to pan, gesture-based interface that smartphone and tablet users find immediately familiar. Low-profile glass dash styling integrates cleanly into modern boat dashes without looking like an aftermarket addition. The widescreen aspect ratio is right for chart display - more useful real estate than older 4:3 chartplotters at the same diagonal size.

Tablet-style operation. The touchscreen interface is designed around smartphone and tablet conventions - users who can operate a phone can operate the GO9 within minutes. Simple home screen with shortcuts to the features you use most. Menu layouts with large, clearly-captioned icons that are easy to recognize and tap accurately even on a moving boat. Customizable home screen and split-screen panel layouts let you see everything you need on-screen at once for your specific use case.

Includes 9-pin High-Speed Skimmer transducer. The kit includes the matching 9-pin High-Speed Skimmer transom mount transducer that handles 83 / 200 kHz operation. 83 kHz is the lower-frequency wide-beam mode for general fish-finding and bottom contour. 200 kHz is the higher-frequency narrower-beam mode for high-detail short-range work. The transducer is rated for high-speed operation - works at planing speeds where slower transducers cavitate and lose signal. For typical recreational use (cruising and fishing in the 0-50 mph speed range), the included transducer handles the standard sonar modes without needing additional purchase.

Built-in advanced echosounder. The GO9 XSE includes built-in echosounder processing that supports CHIRP sonar (with appropriate CHIRP transducer), traditional 2D sonar (with the included Skimmer), DownScan Imaging (with appropriate DownScan transducer or the included Skimmer using 200 kHz), SideScan Imaging (with appropriate SideScan transducer), and ForwardScan (with the dedicated ForwardScan transducer - sold separately). Multiple sonar modes from one chartplotter through different transducer choices.

CHIRP sonar capability. CHIRP transmits a frequency-swept sonar pulse instead of a single-frequency pulse, giving better target separation, better small-target detection, and resistance to interference from other sonar sources. With a CHIRP-capable transducer (sold separately), the GO9 XSE delivers CHIRP performance. The included 83/200 kHz Skimmer handles standard 2D sonar. for CHIRP you'd add a separate CHIRP transducer.

DownScan and SideScan imaging. The GO9 XSE supports DownScan Imaging (high-detail down-looking sonar imagery showing bottom structure and fish in photographic detail) and SideScan Imaging (looks left and right of the boat to find structure and fish that aren't directly under the boat). Both modes require appropriate Imaging-capable transducers - the included Skimmer transducer handles DownScan via the 200 kHz channel. for full SideScan you'd add a Total Scan or Active Imaging transducer (sold separately).

ForwardScan capability. ForwardScan is Simrad's forward-looking sonar that lets you see structure ahead of the boat - critical for shallow-water navigation in unmapped or chart-error areas where you need to know what's ahead before you hit it. Requires a dedicated ForwardScan transducer (sold separately). Particularly valuable for cruising sailors entering unfamiliar harbors and for exploring shallow inshore waters.

C-MAP Discover Chart pre-loaded. The kit includes C-MAP Discover Chart pre-loaded - detailed coastal navigation chart with depth contours, navigation aids, hazards, marinas, and other recreational marine features. Discover is the entry-tier C-MAP chart product. for premium features (high-resolution coastal imagery, detailed dynamic raster contours, fishing chart layers), upgrade to C-MAP MAX-N+ or other premium products. Owners with specific cruising regions to cover should verify which chart product covers their waters best.

Multi-cartography support. The GO9 XSE accepts charts from multiple providers via the dual Micro SD card slots: C-MAP MAX-N+ (premium worldwide), Navionics (premium global), Insight (parent-company's own North American chart product), Insight Genesis (user-contributed bathymetric data), and NV Digital (specialty European cartography). The multi-provider support means you can use whatever chart product you prefer or the chart product with the best coverage of your specific cruising area.

Built-in 10 Hz GPS antenna. The internal GPS antenna delivers position fixes 10 times per second for fluid on-screen movement. The 10 Hz refresh rate vs the 1 Hz typical of older chartplotters means smooth track display at speed - at 30 knots, 10 Hz gives a position update every 5 feet vs every 50 feet for 1 Hz.

Built-in Wi-Fi. The GO9 XSE includes built-in Wi-Fi for: mobile device mirroring (display the chartplotter on a phone or tablet), Internet downloads of chart and software updates, and connection to mobile apps. For owners who plan trips on mobile devices before launching, the Wi-Fi connectivity to mobile devices is a meaningful workflow tool.

NMEA 2000 networking. Standard NMEA 2000 connectivity integrates the chartplotter with the modern marine electronics ecosystem - engine data display (RPM, fuel flow, fuel level, oil pressure, temperatures), autopilot integration, marine audio control (FUSION-Link compatible audio systems), VHF radio integration, AIS receiver display, wind / depth / speed instruments, and C-Zone digital switching system control (for boats with NMEA 2000-controlled switching for lights, pumps, and other DC loads).

Radar port for Simrad radar. The GO9 XSE has a dedicated radar port for plug-and-play connection to Simrad Broadband 3G, Broadband 4G, and Halo Pulse Compression radar systems (radars sold separately). TripIntel trip-planning technology. TripIntel is designed specifically for power boaters - tracks and displays the key information needed for safe trip planning: estimated fuel range based on current consumption, tide and current information for arrival timing, weather forecasting integration. For owners running multi-stop cruising days, TripIntel automates the navigation math that owners used to do mentally or on paper.

OP40 / OP50 wireless remote support. The GO9 XSE works with the optional OP40 and OP50 wireless remote controls (sold separately). The remotes give you chartplotter control from anywhere on the boat without going to the helm - useful for boats where you operate from multiple locations. The OP40 is the basic remote. the OP50 adds expanded capability.

Dual Micro SD card slot. Two Micro SD card slots accept chart cards or data storage cards. The dual slots let you keep two chart sets active simultaneously OR keep one chart and one data card. Useful for owners who travel between cruising regions and want different chart sets for different trips.

Glass dash low-profile styling. The GO9 XSE integrates cleanly into modern boat dashes with the low-profile glass dash styling - the chartplotter sits flush with the dash surface for a clean factory-look install. Compare to older chartplotters that sit proud of the dash surface and look obviously aftermarket.

Install. Mount the chartplotter at the helm using either the supplied gimbal mount or flush mount kit (verify which mount is included with this specific kit configuration). Connect 12V power via the supplied cable through a 5-7A circuit breaker. Mount the included Skimmer transducer on the transom in clean water flow per the install guide. Run the transducer cable to the chartplotter. Connect to NMEA 2000 backbone if you have one. Connect optional radar, additional sensors, or wireless remote receivers as needed. Configure chartplotter settings on first boot. Total install runs 3-5 hours for someone with reasonable mechanical and marine electrical skills.
