Start with a monitor. A BMV-712 Smart shunt-based monitor reads true state of charge, current and voltage so you know how much power is left, which beats guessing from a voltage gauge. Mount the shunt on the negative cable and pair it over Bluetooth to read the data on your phone.
Protect and manage the bank next. A BatteryProtect disconnects loads before the battery drops too low to restart. Argo and Argofet isolators and diode combiners let one charge source feed two or more banks without cross-draining them. A battery balancer evens out cells in series strings to extend life. Match the amp and voltage rating of each device to your system, 12, 24 or 48 volt, before ordering so it handles your loads.
It uses a shunt to read true state of charge, current and voltage, so you know how much power is left instead of guessing from voltage alone.
It disconnects loads before the battery drops too low, which protects the bank and keeps enough charge to restart the engine.
