Sea-Dog Stainless Fuel Tank Vent, 90 Degree, 5/8 in Hose — Product description

This is the Sea-Dog stainless steel fuel tank vent, the 90 degree flush mount version sized for 5/8 inch fuel vent hose. It lets your gas tank breathe as you run and refuel, and the stainless build shrugs off the salt and spray that eat cheaper fittings. Clean lines, corrosion resistance, and a straight swap for a tired old vent.

Every fuel tank on a boat needs to breathe. As you draw gas out running the engine, air has to get back in, and when you fill up at the dock, the air inside has to get out. That's the whole job of this Sea-Dog vent, and it does it without fuss.

This is the 90 degree, flush mount version in stainless steel. The elbow points the outlet down and to the side, so rain and spray don't run straight into the fitting, and the flush mount sits clean against the hull or transom instead of standing proud where a dock line can catch it. It's built for 5/8 inch inside diameter fuel vent hose, which is the common size on most gas tanks.

Why stainless? Because a fuel vent lives outside, right in the splash zone, taking salt, sun, and the odd knock from a fender. Stainless holds up out there. It won't corrode into a chalky mess after a season the way cheaper plated fittings do, and it keeps looking sharp on the topsides for years.

Install is straightforward. You cut the mounting hole, run your 5/8 inch vent hose to the barb, clamp it down, and fasten the flange. If you're replacing an old vent that's weeping or corroded, this is a direct, no-drama swap on most gasoline installations. Just match your hose size and mounting style before you order.

One thing worth saying plainly. This is a vent for a gasoline fuel tank, not a deck fill and not a fitting for a holding tank or water system. Keep it on the fuel side where it belongs. And always run marine-rated fuel vent hose to it, double-clamped, the way ABYC wants it done.

For a small runabout, a center console, or a pontoon, it's the kind of part you fit once and forget. Simple, corrosion resistant, and correct for the job.

Frequently asked questions

What size hose does this vent fit?

It's built for 5/8 inch inside diameter fuel vent hose, which is the common size on most gas tanks. Measure the inside diameter of your existing vent hose before ordering.

Is this for a gas or diesel tank?

Sea-Dog specs this one as a stainless flush mount gas tank vent, so it's built for gasoline fuel tanks. Match the vent to your fuel system before installing.

Why does the vent have a 90 degree angle?

The 90 degree elbow points the outlet down and to the side. That keeps rain and spray from running straight into the fitting while still letting the tank breathe freely.

What is the vent made of?

Stainless steel. A fuel vent lives outside in the splash zone, so stainless resists the salt, sun, and corrosion that break down cheaper plated fittings.

How does it mount?

It's a flush mount fitting, so it sits clean against the hull or transom instead of standing proud. You cut the mounting hole, connect your 5/8 inch vent hose to the barb, clamp it, and fasten the flange.

Can I use it to replace an old corroded vent?

Yes. On most gasoline installations it's a direct swap. Just confirm your hose is 5/8 inch inside diameter and that a flush mount fits your location before ordering.
