Camco Level VII RV Starter Kit | Motorhome Bucket Kit — Product description

The Camco Level VII kit is the whole first-day setup for a new motorhome, packed into one bucket. Drinking water hose, sewer hose, a brass pressure regulator, tank treatment, RV tissue, and a power adapter. If you just picked up your first coach and don't know what to buy, start right here.

Camco built the Level VII kit for one moment: the first time you pull your new motorhome into a site and realize you need a dozen things all at once. Instead of running around a parts counter guessing, you get the core hookup gear in a single bucket. Fresh water in, waste water out, power at the pedestal, and tank care to keep everything smelling right. It's the setup a lot of us wish we'd been handed on day one.

The heart of the kit is the TastePURE 25-foot drinking water hose. This is a real potable-water hose, not a garden hose. It's built lead-free and BPA-free, so the water coming to your galley tastes like water and not like warm plastic. Twenty-five feet gives you enough reach to hit the spigot at most sites without stretching, and the reinforced wall resists kinking when it gets dragged across gravel.

Right behind it is the brass water pressure regulator, and this one quietly saves you from expensive trouble. Campground water pressure is all over the map. Some parks run gentle, and some will hammer your RV plumbing hard enough to blow a fitting behind a wall. The regulator threads on at the spigot and knocks that incoming pressure down to a level your lines and connections can live with. Brass holds up to sun and seasons far better than the plastic versions, so it's the one you want feeding your coach.

On the waste side you get a 15-foot standard sewer hose with the fittings already included. It connects your motorhome's dump valve to the campground sewer or the dump station, and the fittings give you a clean seal at both ends. Fifteen feet covers the reach at most typical sites. When you're done, it collapses down for storage in a bumper or a bay.

Tank care is handled by three TST Orange drop-ins and a four-pack of RV toilet tissue. The TST packets go straight into your black tank and get to work on odor and on breaking down waste and paper, so nothing turns into a clog you have to deal with later. The tissue is 1-ply and made to dissolve fast in a holding tank, which is exactly what you want down there. Regular household paper doesn't break down the same way, and it's a common reason new owners end up with a stopped-up tank and a bad afternoon.

Power is covered by a 15-amp male to 30-amp female Power Grip adapter. If you roll into a spot with only a standard household-style outlet, or you're parked at home charging up before a trip, this adapter lets you connect your 30-amp RV cord to that 15-amp source. The Power Grip design gives you molded handles, so you can pull the plug without yanking on the cord. Just remember a 15-amp source won't run everything at once, so go easy on the big draws like the air conditioner.

A quick word on setup order the first time out. Thread the pressure regulator onto the spigot, then run the drinking water hose from the regulator to your city water inlet. Connect the sewer hose from your dump valve to the sewer fitting and keep the tank valves closed until you're actually ready to dump. Drop a TST packet in the toilet with a little water, and you're set. It sounds like a lot on paper. After you've done it once, the whole hookup takes about five minutes.

So who's this for? First-time motorhome owners, mostly. If you just took delivery and you're staring at a list of gear you've never bought before, the Level VII kit gets you hooked up and camping without a dozen separate trips to the counter. It also makes a solid gift for anyone getting into RVing, or a clean way to restock a coach you just bought used. And everything shows up in a reusable bucket that's handy for hauling the dirty gear once you're out there on the road.

Frequently asked questions

What's included in the Camco Level VII kit?

You get a TastePURE 25-foot drinking water hose, a 15-foot standard sewer hose with fittings, a brass water pressure regulator, three TST Orange tank drop-ins, a four-pack of 1-ply RV toilet tissue, and a 15-amp male to 30-amp female Power Grip adapter, all in a reusable bucket.

Is the water hose safe for drinking water?

Yes. The TastePURE hose is a potable-water hose built lead-free and BPA-free, so it's made specifically for fresh drinking water and not a garden hose pressed into service.

What does the water pressure regulator do?

It threads onto the campground spigot and drops incoming water pressure to a level your RV plumbing can handle safely. Some parks run very high pressure that can damage lines and fittings, and the brass regulator protects against that.

Will the power adapter let me plug my 30-amp RV into a household outlet?

That's exactly what it's for. The 15-amp male to 30-amp female Power Grip adapter connects your 30-amp RV cord to a standard 15-amp outlet. Just don't expect to run high-draw items like the air conditioner on a 15-amp source.

How long is the sewer hose?

The included sewer hose is 15 feet and comes with the fittings you need to connect your dump valve to a campground sewer or a dump station.

What are the TST drop-ins for?

The three TST Orange packets go into your black holding tank to control odor and break down waste and tissue, which helps prevent clogs. Orange is the scent.

Can I use regular toilet paper instead of the RV tissue?

We don't recommend it. The included 1-ply tissue is made to dissolve quickly in a holding tank. Household paper doesn't break down the same way and is a common cause of tank clogs.

Is this kit good for a first-time motorhome owner?

It's built for exactly that. The Level VII kit covers fresh water, waste, power, and tank care in one bucket, so a new owner has the core hookup gear without shopping for each piece separately.
