Navico B60-20, 20° Tilted Element Transducer
Navico B60-20, 20° Tilted Element Transducer — Product description
600 W
The B60 is a 600 W, 50/200 kHz transducer that integrates Airmar's popular, Tilted Element feature. This Tilted Element transducer has the ceramic element fixed at either a 20° or 12° angle within the housing. When the transducer is installed almost flush to the hull, the tilt of the element corrects for the hull deadrise angle. By orienting the beam directly down, it ensures maximum echo returns to the transducer for more-accurate depth readings.
Available in two Tilted Element models:
- Fixed 20° tilted version for 16 to 24° hull deadrise angles
- Fixed 12° tilted version for 8 to 15° hull deadrise angles
Perfect Sonar Solution for Deadrise Hulls
Boat owners with hulls sporting 16° to 24° deadrise angles often struggle with standard transducers that can't deliver a straight-down beam without extra hardware. This tilted element design changes the game by embedding the angle compensation right into the ceramic element. The result? Crisp, reliable sonar returns that hug the bottom accurately, whether you're tracking fish in shallow bays or scanning depths offshore.
Crafted from durable bronze, it slips nearly flush against your hull—protruding just a whisper-thin 5 mm—to slash drag and keep your vessel slicing through water efficiently. No bulky fairing blocks needed, simplifying your setup while boosting performance.
Engineered for Superior Beam Performance
The magic lies in the tilted ceramic inside the housing. Traditional transducers on angled hulls send beams at an offset, distorting readings and missing targets. Here, the 20° tilt ensures a vertical beam, locking in precise depth data and sharper fish arches. At 600W RMS power, it punches through water with mid-tier clarity, ideal for recreational anglers and serious navigators alike.
- Dual-frequency operation: 50 kHz for wide-area coverage in deep water, 200 kHz for detailed high-res scans in shallows.
- Depth and temperature sensing: Track water column changes and stay ahead of thermoclines where fish school.
- Blue 7-pin connector: Plug-and-play reliability for seamless integration.
Streamlined Installation and Hull Compatibility
Mounting is straightforward for through-hull setups. Position it forward of the prop and struts, in a spot where the beam stays clear of interference. The compact profile hugs the hull's curve, reducing turbulence and air bubbles that plague lesser units. Pro tip: Sand the mating surface smooth and use marine sealant for a watertight bond that lasts seasons.
Built tough for saltwater exposure, the bronze construction resists corrosion, ensuring years of trouble-free service. It's a favorite among coastal cruisers who demand gear that handles rough conditions without fuss.
Unlock Clearer Fishfinding and Navigation
Imagine plotting your next catch with confidence: tighter bottom tracking reveals subtle contours, hidden drop-offs, and structure where trophies hide. The temperature sensor adds another layer, helping you pinpoint bait balls migrating with current shifts. Mid-performance specs strike the perfect balance—not overkill for day trips, plenty capable for extended outings.
Users rave about the jump in sonar quality over generic mounts, especially on planing hulls where deadrise matters most. Pair it with your display unit, and you'll wonder how you navigated without it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What hull deadrise angles does this transducer suit best?
It's optimized for boats with 16° to 24° deadrise, delivering a vertical beam without additional fairings for accurate readings.
Does it provide both depth and water temperature data?
Yes, it combines depth sensing with a built-in temperature probe to monitor water conditions in real-time.
What frequencies are supported?
Dual-band 50/200 kHz lets you switch between broad deep-water scans and precise shallow-water details.
How much does it protrude from the hull?
Only about 5 mm (3/16 inch), minimizing drag and hydrodynamic interference for smoother runs.
What's the power rating and performance level?
Rated at 600W RMS, it offers mid-performance punch—reliable for most fishing and navigation needs without excess power draw.
What type of connector does it use?
A 7-pin blue connector for quick, secure hookup to compatible marine electronics.
Is it made for saltwater use?
Yes, the bronze housing stands up to corrosive saltwater environments, making it a solid choice for coastal boating.
20° titled version is designed for 16° - 24° deadrise angles
The bronze B60-20° provide a vertical beam without a fairing. Inside the housing, the ceramic element is tilted to provide built-in deadrise compensation. The resulting vertical beam provides excellent echo returns for more accurate depth readings. The nearly flush housing minimizes drag with only 5 mm (3/16") extending outside of the hull.
