Pacer Group Terminals & Connectors

Most marine electrical failures happen at the connection, and Pacer heat-shrink terminals are built to prevent them. The tinned copper barrels resist corrosion, and the adhesive-lined heat shrink seals the joint against the moisture and salt that destroy bare crimps. This collection covers ring, spade, and butt connectors plus assortments, in the gauges and stud sizes a real install needs.

Match the terminal to the wire

Terminals are color coded to wire gauge: red for 22 to 16 AWG, blue for 16 to 14, and yellow for 12 to 10. Match the terminal to your wire size so the crimp grips properly and carries full current. For ring and spade terminals, also match the stud size, commonly a number 8 or number 10, so it seats on the screw.

Ring, spade, or butt

Ring terminals cannot vibrate off a stud, so use them on anything that matters. Spade terminals slide on and off for gear you service often. Butt connectors splice two wire runs inline, and the heat-shrink versions keep that splice sealed against the elements.

Crimp and seal

Use a ratcheting crimp tool, not pliers, then heat the shrink evenly until the adhesive weeps at the ends. That seal is what makes a marine connection last. Buy an assortment if you are starting fresh so you have the common sizes on hand.
