Furuno SC130 Satelite Compass w/Display
Furuno SC130 Satelite Compass w/Display — Product description
Discover Precision Navigation with the Furuno SC130 Satellite Compass
Navigating busy waterways or tight harbors demands unwavering accuracy, and that's where the Furuno SC130 shines. This advanced satellite compass harnesses cutting-edge GNSS technology—drawing from GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo satellites—to deliver rock-solid heading data that traditional magnetic compasses simply can't match. Whether you're maneuvering a commercial vessel, fishing boat, or yacht, the SC130 ensures your course stays true, even in challenging conditions like magnetic interference or poor visibility.
What sets it apart? It doesn't just point north; it calculates real-time speed over ground (SOG), course over ground (COG), rate of turn (ROT), and three-axis speeds for bow, stern, and longitudinal motion. These insights turn complex berthing operations into confident routines, helping skippers avoid costly mishaps.
Why Choose a Satellite Compass Over Traditional Options?
Magnetic compasses falter near steel structures or electronics, but the SC130 thrives on satellite signals for 0.25° heading accuracy. Its rapid 40°/s follow-up rate—double the IMO standard for high-speed craft—keeps autopilots responsive during sharp turns. Plus, being fully maintenance-free, it eliminates the hassle of gyrocompass alignments or fluxgate calibrations, saving time and resources on every voyage.
- Superior Stability: Consistent performance in dynamic environments, from rough seas to congested ports.
- Multi-Device Synergy: Feeds precise data to radar, ARPA, ECDIS, chart plotters, and scanning sonar for enhanced situational awareness.
- IMO Compliance: Type-approved as a THD, GPS, and ROTI, meeting stringent IEC/ISO standards for professional maritime use.
Effortless Integration into Your Vessel's Network
Slip the SC130 into your existing setup via Ethernet for seamless connectivity. The included 4.5-inch SC702 display offers clear, intuitive readouts, while the SC701 junction box simplifies wiring. Pair it with the SC1303 three-GPS antenna for optimal signal reception, even under overhangs or in semi-obstructed areas. No specialized tools required—just plug in and navigate with confidence.
Picture this: You're docking in a stiff crosswind. The SC130's longitudinal speed data alerts you to subtle drifts, allowing micro-adjustments that prevent scrapes or overruns. It's not just equipment; it's a trusted crew member.
Built for Real-World Demands
Designed for medium to large vessels, the SC130 handles the rigors of daily operations. Its compact antenna withstands harsh marine environments, and the system's redundancy ensures uninterrupted service. Mariners report fewer course deviations and smoother autopilot tracking, translating to fuel savings and reduced crew fatigue on long passages.

Frequently Asked Questions
SC130 Satelite Compass with Display
The SC130 are the latest satellite compasses built on FURUNO’s commercial-grade technology platform. These satellite compasses prove their value by increasing the accuracy of other devices, such as Radar, ARPA, Scanning Sonar, Current Indicator, Chart Plotter, ECDIS and Autopilots. They provide a highly accurate heading input to these other technologies by utilizing the very latest GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System). This satellite system is comprised of GPS, Galileo and GLONASS to ensure the highest precision and a continuous coverage.
The Satellite Compass provides a variety of data, including GPS Positioning, SOG (Speed Over Ground), COG (Course Over Ground), ROT (Rate Of Turn) and 3-axis speed (bow, stern and longitudinal). All of these data assist with critical maneuvers, such as berthing. The Compass is maintenance-free - a great asset for any vessel - and connects easily into the existing shipboard network via Ethernet connection.
The SC130 provides highly accurate heading data of 0.25° for autopilot, Radar, ARPA, Scanning Sonar, Current Indicator, Chart Plotter, ECDIS and Autopilots. It is ideal for medium to large vessels navigating in crowded ports and making precise maneuvers, such as berthing and docking, and is IMO Type-approved as THD, GPS and ROTI, complying with the IEC/ISO requirements. It features a rapid follow-up rate 40°/s, twice the IMO high-speed craft requirement of 20°/s.
