Styled-to-fit covers are cut for a boat style like a center console or runabout for a closer fit. Custom covers are patterned to your exact make and model for the best fit and longest life. Cover fabrics range from economical polyester to heavier, more UV- and water-resistant solution-dyed fabrics. For long outdoor storage and harsh sun, step up to a tougher fabric. For occasional covering, a lighter polyester does the job.
Size the cover to your boat length and style, and check whether it allows for a motor or T-top. For trailering or winter storage, add a support pole to shed water and snow, and use tie-downs or a cover strap kit so wind cannot get under it.

Size to your boat length and style, and check that the cover allows for a motor, T-top, or other features. A cover that is too small strains and tears, while too large flaps in the wind.
For trailering or winter storage, a support pole peaks the cover so water and snow shed off instead of pooling. Pooling water stretches and damages a cover and can collapse it under snow load.
Use the tie-downs or a cover strap kit so wind cannot get under it, and snug all the straps. A loose cover flaps, chafes the finish, and can tear free at highway or storm wind speeds.
