T-H Marine Atlas Micro Jacker 4" Hydraulic Jack Plate - 115 HP — Product description

The T-H Marine Atlas Micro Jacker (MPN AHJM-4-DP) is the SMALLEST and LIGHTEST hydraulic jack plate on the market - the dedicated small-outboard variant of the ATLAS hydraulic jack plate line for outboards up to 115 horsepower or 425 pounds dry weight. Sized specifically for shallow-water boats: Gheenoes, river runners, jon boats, skiffs, and other shallow-draft platforms where the larger 300HP ATLAS would be massive overkill. Only 23 pounds total weight (vs 50+ lbs for the standard ATLAS). 14-5/8 inch wide by 11-1/2 inch tall compact footprint fits on small-boat transoms without dominating the stern. 4-inch setback. 5 inches of hydraulic rise plus 3-1/2 inches of static vertical adjustment for total 8-1/2 inch motor positioning range. Fast 8-second top-to-bottom lift. Self-contained hydraulics - no external pump or reservoir needed. Polished aluminum finish. Optional Clamp-On Motor Adapter (part AHJM-CMA-DP, sold separately) lets you mount engines with clamp-on brackets (engines that don't use the standard BIA bolt pattern). Rocker switch and relay harness NOT included - sold separately. Limited lifetime warranty.

The T-H Marine Atlas Micro Jacker is the small-outboard variant of the ATLAS hydraulic jack plate line - meaningfully smaller, lighter, and lower-capacity than the standard 300HP ATLAS, sized specifically for the shallow-water boats with small outboards where the standard ATLAS would be massive overkill (and where the standard ATLAS's weight would meaningfully degrade boat performance). For owners of Gheenoes, river runners, jon boats, skiffs, and other shallow-draft small-outboard platforms who want hydraulic jack plate capability without the weight and cost of the full-size unit, the Micro Jacker is the right call.

For small outboards up to 115 HP / 425 lb. The Micro Jacker is rated for outboards up to 115 horsepower OR 425 pounds dry weight - whichever limit you hit first. 115 HP covers the typical range of small-outboard skiff and jon-boat applications: 25 HP outboards on small jon boats, 60 HP on mid-size skiffs, 90 HP on bigger skiffs, up to 115 HP on the larger end of the shallow-water boat range. Above 115 HP (typical 150-200+ HP outboards on bay boats and similar), step up to the standard ATLAS line. Verify both the horsepower AND dry weight against your specific outboard - some heavier 90-100 HP outboards approach the 425 lb dry weight limit.

Smallest and lightest hydraulic jack plate. At 23 pounds total weight, the Micro Jacker is meaningfully lighter than the standard ATLAS (50+ pounds) - meaningful because every pound of stern weight matters more on small boats. A 25-pound weight reduction on a 1200-pound skiff is a real percentage of total boat weight and affects both planing performance and overall handling. The 14-5/8 x 11-1/2 inch compact footprint also takes up less transom real estate, which matters on small transoms where space is already constrained.

Why hydraulic jack plate on a small boat. Same reasons as on bigger boats, amplified. Shallow-water boats spend most of their time in shallow water (that's the point) - which means continuously adjusting prop depth as the bottom changes is the difference between productive fishing and constantly hitting bottom. Manual jack plates require dock-side adjustment that doesn't help when conditions change underway. Hydraulic jack plates let you adjust prop depth from the helm with the press of a button - critical capability for skiff fishing in 6 inches of water over oysters where you need to lift the prop fast to avoid damage. The Micro Jacker delivers this capability sized correctly for the small-boat application.

4-inch setback. The 4-inch setback distance positions the outboard 4 inches aft of the transom face. For small shallow-water boats, 4 inches is appropriate - enough setback to provide some prop-water benefit, not so much that the outboard sticks dangerously aft of the small transom. The standard ATLAS line offers larger setbacks (6, 8, 10, 12 inches) for bigger boats. the Micro Jacker is fixed at 4 inches sized for the small-boat application.

5-inch hydraulic rise + 3-1/2 inch static adjustment. The Micro Jacker provides 5 inches of hydraulic motor travel (you adjust this dynamically from the helm) plus 3-1/2 inches of static vertical adjustment (you set this once during install). Total motor positioning range is 8-1/2 inches, with breakdown: 1.5 inches of static adjustment at the transom interface, 1 inch of static adjustment on the motor side, 1 inch of static adjustment within the motor mount itself, and the 5 inches of hydraulic dynamic travel. This range covers all reasonable prop depth requirements for typical small-outboard applications.

Fast 8-second lift. The hydraulic actuator moves the motor from full-down to full-up in 8 seconds. Critical for shallow-water fishing where you need to lift the prop quickly when you spot bottom ahead, or when you've already touched bottom and need to come up before damaging the lower unit. 8 seconds is fast enough that the lift completes before you can travel far enough to do meaningful damage. Slower lift speeds (15-30 seconds typical for older jack plates) often weren't fast enough to be useful in actual shallow-water scenarios.

Self-contained hydraulics. All the hydraulic plumbing is built into the Micro Jacker - no separate pump, no reservoir, no remote hoses to route through the transom. Same engineering approach as the standard ATLAS but at the smaller scale. The integrated design means simpler install (no hydraulic plumbing to bleed) and more reliable operation (fewer connection points means fewer leak failure modes).

Compact 14-5/8 x 11-1/2 inch footprint. The Micro Jacker is sized to fit on small-boat transoms without dominating the stern visually or mechanically. Compared to the larger ATLAS (typically 18-22 inches wide), the smaller footprint matters on small transoms where every inch of vertical and horizontal space is used. Plan the install for the specific transom geometry - small-boat transoms are typically less standardized than larger-boat transoms, and the Micro Jacker's compact size accommodates this variability.

Polished aluminum finish (DP variant). The AHJM-4-DP is the polished-aluminum finish version - the show-quality finish that matches well with chrome and polished aluminum accents on premium skiffs and small fishing boats. The polished aluminum requires occasional buffing to maintain the polished look, but the underlying aluminum is corrosion-resistant either way.

Optional Clamp-On Motor Adapter. Many small outboards don't use the standard BIA (Boat Industry Association) engine mount bolt pattern that bigger outboards use. They mount via clamp-on brackets that grip the transom directly without bolt-through fasteners. For owners with clamp-on outboards, T-H Marine sells an optional Clamp-On Motor Adapter (part AHJM-CMA-DP, sold separately) that converts the Micro Jacker's standard motor mount into a clamp-on compatible interface. Without the adapter, the Micro Jacker won't fit clamp-on outboards. With the adapter, virtually any small outboard fits the Micro Jacker.

Rocker switch and relay harness NOT included. Unlike the standard ATLAS line where the rocker switch and relay harness are included in the box, the Micro Jacker ships WITHOUT them - rocker switch and relay harness are sold separately. Plan to purchase these separately when ordering the Micro Jacker (T-H Marine sells matching switch / harness kits, plus generic compatible switches work fine). Don't be surprised when the kit doesn't include the switch - it's a cost-saving choice T-H Marine made on the Micro Jacker line.

Use case examples. Shallow-water flats fishing - skiff with 60 HP outboard, fishing 12 inches of water over grass flats for redfish and snook, need to lift the prop fast when you spot bottom ahead. Gheenoe river fishing - cane-pole-style canoe with small outboard, navigating shallow river systems with mixed sand bars and submerged logs. Jon boat backwater hunting - small jon boat with 25 HP outboard, accessing duck blinds through shallow marshes where prop depth needs constant adjustment. River running - shallow-water boats traversing shoal-prone rivers where the bottom changes every few feet. The Micro Jacker handles all of these applications without the weight penalty of a larger jack plate.

Install. Mount the Micro Jacker to the transom using stainless steel bolts (typical install uses 1/2-inch bolts through the transom with backing plates inside and marine sealant at every penetration). Mount the outboard to the back of the Micro Jacker using the standard outboard mounting bolts OR the Clamp-On Motor Adapter (sold separately) if your outboard uses clamp-on mounting. Adjust the static vertical position to the desired starting point. Wire 12V power from the battery to the rocker switch (sold separately) and to the Micro Jacker via the relay harness (sold separately). Total install runs 2-4 hours for someone with reasonable mechanical and electrical skills.

Limited lifetime warranty. T-H Marine backs the Micro Jacker with a limited lifetime warranty - same warranty term as the full-size ATLAS line. Service through the T-H Marine warranty network. The lifetime warranty is one of the reasons serious shallow-water anglers specify the Micro Jacker over cheaper hydraulic jack plate alternatives - the upfront cost premium is offset by the long-term coverage.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work with my outboard?

The Micro Jacker is rated for outboards up to 115 HP OR 425 lbs dry weight (whichever limit you hit first). 115 HP covers typical small-outboard applications: 25 HP on small jon boats, 60 HP on mid-size skiffs, 90 HP on bigger skiffs, up to 115 HP on the larger end. Above 115 HP, step up to the standard ATLAS line. Verify both the horsepower AND dry weight against your specific outboard - some heavier 90-100 HP outboards approach the 425 lb dry weight limit.

What's the difference between this and the standard ATLAS?

Size, weight, capacity. The Micro Jacker is smaller (14-5/8 x 11-1/2 inches vs 18-22+ inches), lighter (23 lbs vs 50+ lbs), and lower-capacity (115 HP / 425 lb vs 300 HP / 625 lb). For small-outboard shallow-water applications, the Micro Jacker is the right call. For bigger outboards on bigger boats, the standard ATLAS is required. Don't try to use the standard ATLAS on a small skiff - the weight will degrade boat performance meaningfully.

What boats is it for?

Shallow-water boats with small outboards: Gheenoes, river runners, jon boats, skiffs, and similar shallow-draft platforms. The product is specifically marketed for shallow-water fishing applications (redfish, snook, bass in shallow water, marsh-access duck hunting) where the ability to lift the prop quickly when bottom comes up is the difference between productive fishing and stranded / damaged outboard.

What's the lift speed?

8 seconds top-to-bottom. Critical for shallow-water fishing where you need to lift the prop quickly when you spot bottom ahead, or when you've already touched and need to come up before damaging the lower unit. 8 seconds is fast enough that the lift completes before you can travel far enough to do meaningful damage. Slower lift speeds (15-30 seconds typical for older jack plates) often weren't fast enough to be useful in actual shallow-water scenarios.

Does it work with clamp-on outboards?

Yes, with the optional Clamp-On Motor Adapter (T-H Marine part AHJM-CMA-DP, sold separately). Many small outboards mount via clamp-on brackets rather than the standard BIA engine bolt pattern. The Clamp-On Motor Adapter converts the Micro Jacker's standard motor mount into a clamp-on compatible interface. Without the adapter, the Micro Jacker only fits outboards with standard BIA bolt-through mounting. Order the adapter at the same time as the Micro Jacker if your outboard uses clamp-on mounting.

Is the switch included?

No - unlike the standard ATLAS line, the Micro Jacker ships WITHOUT the rocker switch and relay harness. Both are sold separately. Plan to purchase these separately when ordering the Micro Jacker. T-H Marine sells matching switch / harness kits, plus generic compatible switches work fine for the install.

What about the hydraulic rise?

5 inches of hydraulic rise (the dynamic adjustment you control from the helm via the rocker switch) plus 3-1/2 inches of static vertical adjustment (set once during install). Total positioning range is 8-1/2 inches. The breakdown is roughly: 1.5 inches at the transom interface, 1 inch on the motor side, 1 inch within the motor mount, plus 5 inches of hydraulic dynamic travel. This covers typical small-outboard prop depth requirements.

What's the install like?

Mount the Micro Jacker to the transom using stainless steel bolts (typical 1/2-inch bolts through the transom with backing plates inside and marine sealant at every penetration). Mount the outboard to the back of the Micro Jacker using standard outboard bolts OR the Clamp-On Motor Adapter (sold separately) if your outboard uses clamp-on mounting. Adjust static vertical position. Wire 12V power to the rocker switch (sold separately) and to the Micro Jacker via the relay harness (sold separately). Total install runs 2-4 hours.

Why does weight matter?

Every pound of stern weight matters more on small boats. A 25-pound weight reduction (Micro Jacker's 23 lbs vs standard ATLAS's 50+ lbs) is a real percentage of total boat weight on a 1200-pound skiff - affects both planing performance and overall handling. For shallow-water boats where running shallow and accelerating from idle to plane quickly are both critical, minimizing stern weight matters meaningfully. The Micro Jacker is sized for the application. the standard ATLAS isn't.

What about saltwater?

Yes - aluminum construction with marine-grade design handles saltwater use. Rinse with fresh water after each saltwater trip. Inspect bolts and the hydraulic actuator seal periodically for corrosion. Properly maintained, the Micro Jacker will outlast multiple outboards in saltwater service. The polished finish requires occasional buffing to maintain appearance, but corrosion resistance doesn't depend on polishing.

How much current does it draw?

Roughly 20-30 amps peak during lift / lower operation - meaningfully less than the larger ATLAS variants. Use a 30A circuit breaker on the positive lead near the battery. The Micro Jacker can typically share a circuit with other accessories on small boats where the standard ATLAS would require a dedicated heavy circuit.

What's the warranty?

Limited lifetime warranty - same warranty term as the full-size ATLAS line. Service through the T-H Marine warranty network. Save the receipt and contact T-H Marine for any warranty claims. The lifetime warranty is one of the reasons serious shallow-water anglers specify the Micro Jacker over cheaper hydraulic jack plate alternatives.
