Raymarine Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM Chartplotter, No Transducer — Product description

Raymarine's Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM 12-inch chartplotter and fishfinder. Six-core processor, HybridTouch (touchscreen plus keypad) interface, HydroTough nano-coating that repels water for clean touchscreen control in spray, and built-in RealVision MAX CHIRP plus dual-channel 1kW CHIRP sonar electronics. This SKU ships without a transducer and without a pre-loaded chart card.

The Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM is Raymarine's mid-sized chartplotter at the top of the Axiom 2 Pro lineup, configured for boats where the helm wants 12 inches of screen with the full Raymarine network integration. The RVM designation calls out RealVision MAX, which is the upgraded version of Raymarine's RealVision sonar bundling DownVision, SideVision, and 3D sonar with increased range, better resolution, and sharper fish targets than the original RealVision generation. The Pro suffix indicates the Pro-tier feature set with the dual-channel 1kW CHIRP sonar electronics, the upgraded six-core processor, the HybridTouch interface, and the full radar and autopilot network expansion paths.

The chartplotter ships without a pre-loaded chart card and without the LightHouse Charts Premium subscription. The base LightHouse operating system and the standard LightHouse chart features are available out of the box, but for high-detail bathymetry and the Premium features (satellite imagery overlays, 3D bathymetric data, recommended routing, social waypoint sharing), you'd add the LightHouse North America chart card and the Premium subscription separately. For owners who already have a Raymarine chart card from a previous system, or who plan to use C-MAP or Navionics cards instead, this no-chart variant saves you the cost of charts you wouldn't use.

The HybridTouch interface is Raymarine's combination of touchscreen plus a physical keypad. Touchscreen handles waypoint placement, pan-and-zoom, and menu navigation. The keypad handles the operations that need to work reliably regardless of wet hands or gloves. The Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM specifically ships with a user-configurable keypad that can also be swapped for an autopilot keypad if you're running a Raymarine autopilot at the same helm. The HydroTough nano-coating on the display is the upgrade most operators notice after the first season: the coating repels water so spray and rain run off the screen rather than smearing into a smudge that obscures the picture. Combined with the smart backlighting and the ambient light sensor that adjusts display brightness automatically between day and evening, the unit reads well in real-world boat conditions.

The RealVision MAX sonar electronics are what make the RVM variant distinct from the non-RVM Axiom 2 Pro 12. RealVision MAX adds DownVision (high-detail down-scanning imaging), SideVision (left-right structure imaging), and 3D sonar (three-dimensional underwater visualization combining the down and side imaging into a single picture) to the standard 1kW dual-channel CHIRP traditional sonar. The MAX upgrade specifically extends the range and sharpens the imaging detail compared to the original RealVision. For inshore and offshore fishing applications, the combination of conventional CHIRP plus RealVision MAX 3D covers the sonar workflow most operators want without needing additional black-box sonar modules on the network.

One install consideration. The Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM ships without a transducer. You'd add a Raymarine RVM-compatible transducer (RV-100, RV-200, or similar) for full RealVision MAX functionality, plus optionally a separate 1kW CHIRP transducer for the conventional sonar channel. Tell us your boat hull type and how you fish, and we'll spec the right transducer pairing before you order. For network expansion, the Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM accepts radar (the current Quantum and Cyclone Doppler radar series), autopilot, AIS, and additional Axiom displays through the RayNet Ethernet network. SeaTalkng (with the included DeviceNet adapter) covers instrument network integration. HDMI output and audio output let you connect to a remote display or a marine entertainment system. The bundle ships with the chartplotter, user-configurable keypad, sun cover, gasket, two trunnion knobs, trunnion bracket, mounting hardware, RayNet network cable, DeviceNet adapter, and power/video/audio cable.

One thing worth knowing about the Axiom 2 Pro lineup compared to the non-Pro Axiom 2 series. The Pro tier adds the six-core processor, the HybridTouch interface with the user-configurable keypad, the dual-channel 1kW CHIRP sonar electronics, and the full radar and autopilot network expansion. The non-Pro Axiom 2 chartplotters share the same display technology but step down on the processor speed and the network expansion paths. For owners who plan to network multiple displays, add radar, or run a Raymarine autopilot, the Pro tier is the right starting point. For owners who want a standalone chartplotter without the network expansion, the non-Pro Axiom 2 saves money. The Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM specifically lands in the sweet spot for serious sport-fishing and cruising boats that want the full network capability with a meaningful screen size without the cost of the larger Axiom 2 Pro XL 16-inch unit.

Frequently asked questions

Is a transducer included?

No. The Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM ships without a transducer. The chartplotter has the built-in RealVision MAX plus dual-channel 1kW CHIRP sonar electronics, but you'd add the actual transducer separately based on how you fish. The RV-100 or RV-200 is the typical pick for transom-mount RealVision MAX work. For thru-hull or 1kW CHIRP transducer pairing on the secondary sonar channel, Raymarine and Airmar both have compatible options. Tell us your boat and we'll spec the pairing.

What's the difference between the RVM variant and the non-RVM Axiom 2 Pro 12?

RVM means RealVision MAX sonar electronics. The non-RVM Axiom 2 Pro 12 has the same chartplotter hardware but without the RealVision MAX sonar built in. For most installs the RVM is the right pick because it bundles RealVision MAX (DownVision + SideVision + 3D) into the chartplotter rather than requiring a separate Raymarine sonar black box. The non-RVM is a slightly cheaper option for owners running an external sonar module already.

What charts come with it?

No chart card and no LightHouse Charts Premium subscription ship with this SKU. The base LightHouse operating system runs out of the box with the standard chart feature set, but for high-detail bathymetry and the Premium features you'd add the LightHouse North America chart card (010-XX or similar Raymarine part) and the Premium subscription separately. C-MAP and Navionics chart cards also work as alternative chart options.

What does HybridTouch actually do?

HybridTouch is Raymarine's combination of touchscreen plus a physical keypad. The touchscreen handles waypoint placement, pan-and-zoom, and menu navigation. The keypad handles the operations that need to work reliably regardless of wet hands or gloves. On the Axiom 2 Pro 12 the keypad is user-configurable for the controls you actually use, and it can be swapped for a dedicated autopilot keypad if you're running a Raymarine autopilot at the same helm.

What about the HydroTough screen coating?

HydroTough is the nano-coating Raymarine applies to the Axiom 2 Pro screens that repels water. Spray and rain bead up and run off the display rather than smearing into a smudge. On a bass boat or center console where the helm sees a lot of water, the coating is one of the practical upgrades you notice every time you use the unit.

Can I network multiple Axiom 2 Pro units?

Yes. The RayNet Ethernet network supports multiple Axiom 2 Pro and Axiom (non-Pro) chartplotters on the same boat. Common configurations are a 12-inch unit at the console plus a 9-inch unit at the bow, with sonar history, waypoints, and routes shared between them. The Pro and non-Pro Axiom units mix on the same network without issue.

Does it work with my Raymarine autopilot?

Yes. The Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM integrates with the current Raymarine Evolution autopilot lineup over RayNet, with full course control and mode adjustment from the chartplotter screen. The user-configurable keypad can be swapped for an autopilot-specific keypad if you want dedicated autopilot controls at the helm.

Can I add radar later?

Yes. The Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM accepts the current Raymarine Quantum (Wi-Fi or hardwired) and Cyclone Doppler radar series through the RayNet network. The radar dome or open-array is a separate purchase. We can spec the right radar pairing for your boat when you're ready to add it.

Will it run on my 12V system?

Yes. The Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM accepts 11 to 32 volts DC input, so both 12V and 24V house banks are supported without a converter.

What's the warranty?

Raymarine's standard marine electronics warranty applies. 2-year limited on the chartplotter. Coverage details are on the warranty card. Raymarine's customer service handles in-warranty work directly.
