This new 170 Amp two-foot mounted XT alternator is equipped with K6 pulleys for 6-slot serpentine belts. This is a much higher output alternator than the output alternator that can usually be housed in a small enclosure. The innovation that makes this possible is the new braided stator design, which greatly improves efficiency. The new XT series alternator also includes a backup internal regulator for emergency situations. For installation details, please refer to the dimensional drawing. The alternator is slightly shorter than the standard small alternator, but is designed to be used in the same location. These alternators all require a serpentine belt or double V-belt, and for full power output, the MC614-H regulator (not included) is needed because it can provide more demand to drive it to full power.
